Category 1: "Top" signings that turn out to be shit.

Category 2: "Average" signings that end up being excellent.

give examples.. for example...consider quality of the player, signing fee and wages and all other circumstances

Category 1: Rush to Juve, Veron to United, Shevchenko to Chelsea, Kaka to Madrid

Category 2: Valencia to United, Garcia to Liverpool, Ivanovic to Chelsea, etc

I put Valencia in the second category.

People laughed at the signing and the fee when he signed (to replace Ronaldo) simply because he was a Wigan player...now look at it Smile

If you read the description Category 2 was for players that seemed to be average players at the time but turned out to be excellent signings

Depends on what you consider world class but Bergkamp was world class then. Yet you have Hleb in category 1 and Bergkamp was better than Hleb. Suspect

funny, Sagna is the best RB in the EPL , thats high profile to me. Vermaelen is also one of the best CBs in the league.

Hleb was a great player when he went to Barcelona and flopped hard. Sorry if he wasn't under your category of great player
