Laura #Garracharrua @LBCeleste 15m
Surgery is done. Luis surrounded by family ...left knee was the one injured. 2weeks . #FuerzaLuisSuarez
Apparently an arthroscopic surgery was done, which is not very invasive(5-10min surgery).
He'll be fine. At worst could miss Costa Rica game. The England game is exactly a month away to the day so he'll be fine.

Tbh, the part of me that supports England out of national teams after Finland wouldn't mind seeing Suarez miss the England game x)
And I don't think his Liverpool performances are going to be affected by whatever happens in Brazil.

Actually they might. He's in his prime, next world cup he'll be 31. This is best chance to help country probably in the biggest competition in football.

It's a stretch to assume that a disappointing World Cup for any player would make them sulk at their club.

This is a guy who conceded a penalty, got so disappointed that he bit another human. Not your average guy

Re: Luisito
I think the club should give him a slap on the wrist for PR reasons. No bans but just some sort of a fine or something. Put him through rehab again. Surround him with the right people. His family. Stevie helping out again etc. Keep him away from the press. Support him through this mess.
And let his football do the talking on the pitch. Like I always , this just needs time to blow over. So just keep him away from the media frenzy as much as possible and have him wreck havoc on the pitch like last season with his play.
If FIFA do ban him hopefully it's only for Uruguay and hopefully it's for a long period. Just let us have him and nurture him our way for that period. He'll be more rested and more concentrated and more hungry (no pun intended).
I just pray that this doesn't mean FSG are tired of his antics. This guy is without a doubt a top 3 player in the world and we would never find a suitable replacement. Hopefully this incident works to our advantage and it means that clubs like Madrid and Barca won't risk Luis' controversy and forget about him.

Tbh it's mostly hurting Luis' image and not our image, especially since this was with Uruguay.
Thing is we've stuck with him through the worst and now he's in his prime. Giving up on him in his prime, when he's a top 3 player in the world, would just be idiotic. Think he needs to repay us with some trophies big time. And we're finally at that stage as a team. Would be terrible to cut him loose now.

I really do think that this is a selfish and irresponsible response from a quality poster. There is no doubt that Luis is a great footballer and has tremendous passion for the game but what he displayed today was an absolute embarrassment and don't even get me started post-match interview. Luis needs to understand that this sort of behavior is unwelcomed and unacceptable and a slap on the rest will not teach him that. He needs to understand that his actions today were wrong and the only reprimand I see capable of fixing his behavior is taking one the most important things in his life away, football. FIFA needs to ban him for a minimum of 1yr from all competitions but I will agree with you in that Liverpool and all of those who care for Luis need to stand by him as he attends treatment for his temper

Oh I understand. I'm fuming. How can he do this to us AGAIN?
He needs to repay us with a trophy. He needs to play better than he's ever done. Piece of shit doesn't even deserve to wear the red shirt with his bs he's pulling. I swear if he comes out whining and wanting to leave. I'm gonna personally swim across the ocean and beat the shit out of him.
And forget Uruguay, I'm really hoping he gets a long term ban for them.

Man if only you knew how absolutely mind wrecking it is to have a player like him, who is so good yet so controversial that you start questioning your own sanity.
Of course my mindset is selfish. We, as a club, have done nothing wrong, we have stood by him, given him rehab, but this pos just keeps pulling idiotic things like this. Why should we be punished in any way? You take away Suarez from our team and we're knocked back down to square one. This upcoming season is supposed to be the best season we've had in years, where we can finally challenge for trophies but you are telling me we should be striped from our best player.
Ban him as much as you want for Uruguay, as the incident occurred with them, but in no way is it fair to hurt us.
We'll take repercussions against him internally. But that's as far as this should stretch.

Re: Luisito
Yea man i understand. Liverpool are a great club and do not deserve the dump truck-size load of shite that Luis has unleashed on them from the international level but at the end of the day if you are calling for his head at the international level I believe that has to, in some way translate to club level as well.
On another note, as tremendous a player that Luis is, I don't believe his absense means that Liverpool are back to square one. You guys are an amazing project and have the ability to attract great talent and if you guys sure up your defense then I think you'll still be able to compete for a top 4 spot

We shouldnt ban him for any no of matches, period. At best fine him heavily for PR reasons nothing more.

Re: Luisito
Too many people hold others ransom over moral standards.
Biting an opponent is a red card offence. so was Zidan'e headbutt. It was as aggressive.
Suarez should get as much of a ban as Zidane got.
We all do horrible things in our lives. I hate it how everyone pretends to be perfect and morally responsible when deep down we know that we're not.
Not arsed. I've been trolling my non-LFC fan friends all day over this.

Re: Luisito
Big who cares. Personally I find it funny - what a weird quirk for a player to have.
End of the day, nobody gets hurt, nobody suffers except for him. As long as he's not getting himself suspended for CL or PL games, I could give two flying *bleep*. I'd rather have a player who's a good person off the field, stays out of the tabloids and treats their family and friends with respect but occasionally bites people during moments of passion than a player who's sleeping with their teammates' wives or throwing darts at teenagers.
Chiellini's fine, Ivanovic is fine, whoever the first guy in Holland was is fine. I really don't understand what everybody's so upset about. Suspend him [2][10][30][whatever number of] games and move along.

Re: Luisito
I don't find it funny at all, nor I think it's the same as a headbutt. Headbutt seems more natural than goddamning biting another person. Three times, too.
What makes it worse that when he did it to Ivanovic, he (and our PR people) could still come up with some excuses and believable apologies, he was able to say all the right things after the incident. "I've learnt my lesson, I realise I cannot do this" etc etc. Now he cannot say the same things again, no one's going to take him seriously, they're just going to ridicule him for whatever he says. "LOL, Luis, you said the same thing a year ago when you bit Ivanovic, you're a funny nutcase, haha".
Can you imagine the abuse he's going to get from away fans in England? They're going to be making fun of him to no end. And how about the press, just a few days ago he said that his goals against England were a revenge for how the media in England were treating him. So, not exactly mending his relationship with the press there. And now they've got this huge piece of ammunition to use against him as they wish.
I don't know, we'll see what happens, maybe there will be very little effect to his Liverpool future and Liverpool performances, but he's going to need balls of steel to endure what's surely coming for him.
Might add that I feel a little sorry for Rodgers, he's going to be facing some questions about Suarez from the press that will be difficult to give good answers for.

Basically I agree. And I don't think it is even worse than Shawcross, Martin Taylor or Roy Keane vs Haaland , or Pepe every year .
All Serie A player elbow Chiellini, I think he broke his nose 10 times for this reason , because he is the first player to play aggressive against his opponent.
He destroyed the fibula of Berghessio Catania player just this year with a killer tackle , and tbh I don't think it is so better than a bite, Chiellini is fine now and since today he can apply himself in his favourite sport , breaking the legs of the opponents.
Suarez deserves surely a Zidane-esque ban with his NT (about the recidivism , Zidane also was recidive, Materazzi was not the first to have the headbutt, just watching Juve-Amburgo etc) , and a pecuniary fine . It is enough . It was not the worst gesture in football history , it was not even the worst gesture this year and Suarez is not even the most unsportsmanlike player in the world. There is even of worse. I've read even who asks the ban forever for him or 2 years of ban the excess of justicialism is ridicolous
