I'm not sure if Chelsea would play this attacking, but they need another finisher alongside Hazard and Mata behind Torres. Plus it would give them more depth in attack.

Surely not. I mean, top 5 RB available for a fairly small amount.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 8
Queens Park Rangers are on the brink of signing Julio Cesar after previously thinking it would not be possible to tempt the Inter Milan goalkeeper to Loftus Road.
Sky Sports earlier on Tuesday revealed the veteran shot-stopper was in London to hold talks and a deal could soon be completed, much to the shock of QPR boss Mark Hughes
"There's nothing concluded yet," Hughes said after Tuesday night's win over Walsall in the Capital One Cup. "There are a number of papers that need to go back.
Intention
"We're not at a point where we can actually say it's a done deal. The intention is there obviously if we can but at the moment it's not concluded.
"I said I wanted to have two quality goalkeepers this window if at all possible. Sometimes when opportunities present itself you want to pursue them.
"When you get an opportunity to possibly bring a player of the quality Julio Cesar's quality, with his playing record and his mentality, then I think you have to pursue to its conclusion.
"I think when we started the process we probably never thought there was an opportunity or chance he would be able to come here. If we are able to conclude it, we'll be delighted."

I guarantee they're offering him Ridiculous wages. Rob Green's not far off his level.
This signing is a slight notch above the Nelsen signing IMO. Silly.

Laudrup on Sinclair-Man City:
City returned with an improved offer, but it is understood the bid has been turned down by the Swans - who are determined to have their valuation of the player met.
Laudrup would not confirm or deny that an offer had been rejected, but admits the deal could still happen.
He said: "I can't say, I really don't know where we are at the moment.
"Even if talks have broken down there is still time for everything to happen, I am not saying he will go, or he will stay.
"The point where we are now could change completely.
"From a manager's point of view, Scott is an important player and he plays in a position where we don't have that many players and if he leaves we need another one.
"That's the balancing act and the closer we get to the deadline the more difficult and shaky it will be."
-------------
Southampton manager Nigel Adkins says the club's chairman is working hard to secure the signing of highly-rated forward Gaston Ramirez from Bologna.
"Until the pieces of paper are signed you can never say it's done but the chairman is working exceptionally hard behind scenes and is backing us in what we do," Adkins said when asked about Ramirez.
"We are very ambitious and there is serious cash to be outlaid if it's going to happen."

ls maybe just be me, but Totternham rivals ought to be worried. This team looks strong even on par with Arsenal and chelsea
Ade guarantees goals, wide players are pacy and tricky, middle is very technical and can keep possession
If only AVB could manage his team anything is possible.

Sad to see Richardson go.
Been a good servant to the club and there arnt many players in the league as versatile as him.
Be interesting to see if MoN brings anyone else in before the end of the week. Hopefully beat Liverpool to signing Dempsey as part of the Rico deal.

GDS definitely won't be playing. Kaboul > Gallas. Siggy just as likely to start as VDV, but yes, they look very strong. All depends on AVB. I think their starting lineup (with Dembele) is superior to Arsenal's and Chelsea's.

Considering Liverpool have, by all accounts, never lodged official interest in Dempsey beyond an early inquiry I'd say Sunderland has a very good chance of beating us to him. That is unless something significant has happened in the past two or three days, of course.

France football are reporting the deal to be worth 10 million, I think that is just about the right price for a French international with a year left on his contract under the current market prices.

Ivanovic is a pretty terrible fullback and I dunno about either of your CB ratings either
But Mikel is definitely better than Brave Scotty Parker as is Mata better than Bale

Ivanovic is good defensively, much better than Walker.
You really think their CB's are better than ours? Their only decent CB is King

Should have said that I was including Lloris too.
Lloris > Cech
Kaboul > Luiz
Walker > Azipil
Terry .
CB Ivan > Vertonghen (don't rate him that highly)
Cole > BAE
Dembele > Lampard
Sandro > Mikel
Hazard > Lennon
VDV/Siggy>Oscar/Ramires/Alternatives
Bale > Mata, slightly IMO.
Ade >>>>> Torres
Chelsea will still finish above them.
No point even comparing Arsenal to Spurs on paper.
