"Like I have said before, I just have to wait and I hope that there can be a quick resolution," the 23 year-old told Bild am Sonntag.

"I cannot say much more about the situation. I am relaxed and I am training to maintain my fitness and I just hope that a decision can be made soon."

Interest

Martinez has been surprised by the German media's interest in him since he was first reported to be on Bayern's radar.

"I have spoken to the newspapaer from Germany as they focused on me and my life," he added.

"It is crazy. It is a great feeling to know that the German people are interested in me."

In recent weeks Martinez has made it clear that he wants to leave Athletic along with striker Fernando Llorente and the duo have lost the affection of the Basque club's supporters.

Well, according to reports from people at transfermarkt.de, there are 2 Lufthansa machines from Bilbao to Munich per day, and Martinez wasn't seen in either (the second just landed at 14:05 GMT+2). So unless he was cleverly disguised or he didn't/doesn't use the normal Lufthansa machine, it is unlikely that he will be around today for any medical etc.

Milan will also ask Real Madrid for the services of Lassana Diarra when they resume talks for Kaka this week.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri want to take their former player on loan and are hoping to net teammate Diarra too.

Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani is expected in the Spanish capital on Wednesday where he will watch the Supercopa de Espana second-leg clash between Madrid and Barcelona.
