Man City trying to pry De Rossi out of Roma....
De Rossi doesn't want Man City
By Football Italia staff
Daniele De Rossi is reportedly not convinced by the idea of leaving Roma despite Manchester City finally making a bid for his services.
After a summer of negotiations and speculation, City made a £35m offer to Roma for their inspirational midfielder on Friday evening – a fee that the club will probably deem acceptable.
However, De Rossi isn’t necessarily keen to leave his boyhood club for pastures new in England despite wages worth £6m per season, according to Sportmediaset and Tuttosport.
His agent Sergio Berti met City officials earlier in the week but, contrary to reports in the English press, he was discussing his other client Aleksandar Kolarov, the City full-back.
Whether the subject of De Rossi was also discussed is unknown, but the English champions have finally firmed up their interest with a concrete bid.
The Italian international’s future could be decided by whether Roma choose to accept City’s enormous offer and face the inevitable fan backlash that De Rossi’s sale would provoke.

How much is it gonna take? We are talking 44 million euros here.
At what point does it make sense to sell DDR?
You know Man City will offer 60+ before the deadline. I'm a bit worried to be honest.

Re: Man City trying to pry De Rossi out of Roma....
Unless he was joking, which it's unclear if he was, I hold Sabatini at his word. He said 100m so that's what we should expect.
Reports I'm reading on twitter say Citeh are preparing a 55m bid. Other reports are saying that we're lining up Nigel De Jong as a possible replacement.
Personally, I'm not too worried. He doesn't want to go and we don't want to sell him. This will end just as it did last summer and the summer before that.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Daniele De Rossi has agreed a move to Manchester City; a contract worth more than €9m a year.

Also before some smartarse comes in and says trophies we have a great chance of winning the league this season imo with the team we have.No european distractions,Conte's ban,Milan selling their star players,Inter under a young inexperienced manager and Napoli losing Lavezzi.

It is also reported that he will only leave should Roma want to sell him, which we don't.

Re: Man City trying to pry De Rossi out of Roma....
I'm weary about us not wanting to sell him. To City, money is no object. Where as if we can sell De Rossi for 80 million (you know its coming), that would help us out financially, essentially paying for our last two mercatos.
My question is, at what figure will Sabatini and upper management budge...
Or at what figure would the tifosi deem to be acceptable?
Apparently the fans are staging a protest today before our home game against Aris Salonika. (Anyone got a feed?)

De Rossi message in Roma win
By Football Italia staff
Pablo Daniel Osvaldo, Michael Bradley and Mattia Destro scored in Roma’s win over Aris Salonika, but all eyes were on Manchester City target Daniele De Rossi at the Olimpico.
The last couple of days were dominated by talk of a Manchester City offer for the ‘Future Captain,’ so the 40,000 fans chanted his name and unveiled a banner that read: ‘Hands off De Rossi!’
The midfielder was introduced to the crowd with the speaker’s words: “He chose Roma for life. Our most important signing – Daniele De Rossi.”
Osvaldo was set up by Miralem Pjanic to fire in a right-foot strike and open the scoring after 25 minutes.
New buy Federico Balzaretti’s screamer was beaten away with some difficulty, while Francesco Totti fired over the bar.
After the restart Balzaretti’s cross curled on to the head of Michael Bradley, but the American was denied by a fantastic Vellidis save.
Bradley’s celebration was only postponed, as he did manage to beat the Aris goalkeeper with another header from Rodrigo Taddei’s cross.
Erik Lamela was also denied by the impressive goalkeeper, but Vellidis made a mistake in the final minutes and Destro did not let the chance go begging for his first Giallorossi goal at the Stadio Olimpico.
