Football should be like WWE

Football teams should play with the sole purpose of entertaining its fans and not winning, winning is just a bonus (mjgunner, 2012).

Nope, it's about winning. Period.

yea it's about winning. as long as you have some exciting games it's fine. i don't think it's usual for a winning team to be boring every game anyway

Especially with the.masses amount of money at stake in professional football, it baffled me how a 'fan' would rather not have a minimum of £20M prize money because they don't play entertaining .

I thought it was about the haircuts.

As a fan, i don't get any pleasure in seeing a team win for the simple reason that i am not playing. I am not in the team. I have zero invested in the team in terms of effort, sacrifice and desire other than 1 and a half hours of my time.

But i do get pleasure when i see silky moves, good tactics and of course goals. So, for me, it is about style first and winning second. That is why i could never stand to watch a team like Chelsea (no offense).

Who say's WWE isn't about winning?

Abra would you rather Chelsea opened up and tried to play nice football against Barca and lose by five or six goals, or sit back and play ugly and win the CL

I don't think there is an ugly way to play football per say. I find beauty even in parking the bus and playing organized defensive games. Beauty and entertainment in football isn't all about stepovers, flicks, and 40yard goals (although these things are always a bonus). I think it takes more dedication to be a good defensive side than an attacking side.

The only ugly way football can be played, it's cheating. Getting favors from the referees, time wasting, diving, play acting, tackling to hurt players, etc.

Think about what's being said, how does one "fake" football?

Teams find it hard enough to execute their plays/game plans perfectly, what makes you think an entire 90 minute match can be staged and choreographed within 3 days in cases of teams playing in Europe.

There are far too many variables involved, in addition things can't be executed perfectly in real football, it'd be impossible to fake football.

I'd rather win. Most of the time we are entertained by winning anyway, especially in big matches.

Hmmm first of all I don't understand what he means by should football be like wwe? At first I thought he was trying to say players should not always fall down and play act, instead they should take it like men in wwe superstars, who get slam but still rise up to challenge.


You must remember wrestlers are trained to take pains, they are also determined to win the belts but footballers are not trained for pains,
I love wwe, it's so real.

By WWE i mean fans only watching for the entertainment factor and not caring about winning but that teams should entertain the fans as first priority regardless of results. For me the concept of not caring if your team wins or loses is rather retarded too, must be a robot with no passion.
