i read the he will undergo surgery today

how bad is his injury? and how long will he need to rest?

3-4 months, back injury similar to that of higuains(Although higgys was 4-6).

He could have made things less complicated during his time at Bayern, but we'll be fine in his absence. Like OMARz, I was reading 3-4 months.

Dr. J. Thonn, Chief of Neurosurgery at the hopsital, successfully performed an endoscopic microdiscectomy on the player. Altintop will remain in hospital until Saturday morning.

So what position should/will he play in most? RB, CM/DM or Wing?

Turkey midfielder Hamit Altintop could make his long-awaited debut for Real Madrid against Ajax on Tuesday after recovering from injury, Marca reports.

Altintop, 28, was snapped up on a free transfer from German giants Bayern Munich in the summer, but has been prevented from making his debut for the Spanish club due to an injury sustained in pre-season.

However, Jose Mourinho has included him in the squad to face Ajax on Tuesday - a match that could see Altintop become the first Turkey international to represent Real Madrid.

However, Real Madrid will be without Marcelo following his red card in Zagreb a fortnight ago, while Fabio Coentrao, Pepe and Nuri Sahin continue to miss out.

With all this happening, it would be nice if people stop jumping to conclusions when things happen. For example, when Altintop was initially hurt and his name was brought up in a discussion about his role in the team, someone would immediately say "He's injured and out for the season, forget about him."

Jumping to conclusions like this is unfortunate for everyone. It just leaves everyone confused and uneducated about the situation, especially when as seen in this case, it's not true.

As we can see he is not out for the season, in fact he was barely out for a couple months. Jumping to conclusions like "he's out for the season for sure, we're signing Aguero for sure no doubt about it" help nobody.

I think we should all collectively stop saying things are 100% when we don't know for a fact that they are not.

I thought he was solid for the most part yesterday. Did have trouble, as would anyone against barca, but overall I was impressed.

Well he was good and bad, the good was he was half of the time solid and stopped ineasta, the bad was that most of the times his positioning was SHOCKING and he let ineasta to come at him instead of stopping him before he even starts, he was torn apart by ineasta and was out of position for the second goal, some might say it was winger job to mark abidal, but did u even look at altintop positioning at that time, he was acting as he is a CB.

The thing is arbeloa would probably have 100 times better performance then this dude. but what can we do, we had no choice other then him.

I have been screaming for a True RB since like few months, people just kept dismissing me, now they know.
