I know but who sits through Raw or Smackdown hoping for realism?
The usual good guy vs bad guy storylines kinda get boring. I prefer the realistic, controversial, edgy, worked shoot type storylines.

i like the controversial and edgy bit but the realism isn't as important but its just a preference thing.Yohan Modric wrote:nichabr wrote:Yohan Modric wrote:Both of their styles are different. Good guy bad guy is what gets the crowd and what brings out the reaction from them. They have to do it.

I also like storylines that make you want to tune in the following week. There's not really been much of those recently.

AE Rock mic skills >>>> anyone else. This Rock's mic skills are good but no where near his standards. Punk out shined him in that promo and anyone who says otherwise is plain biased. Cookiepuss ? Seriously ?
On other news, Super Cena ruined the show for me. Childish promo with childish attitude and childish jokes, and to top it all, he kicks out of two finishers and wins the match...way to bury Zigglers Vince...good job

lets admit it, if someone else was saying the exact same things the crowd wouldnt bother, but the Rock, due to his history and celebratory status, will get a reaction just by standing there

WWE can get even more out of this if the referee is Stone Cold or HBK

More depth of storylines really is lacking now. A lot of the matches and feuds are just surface feuds with little substance.

Had Rock gone '99 on Punk, you still would have seen a joke like that here and there. It's always been his method, but I agree Rock can still go a few more levels. Punk was brilliant though.. played his part perfectly.
As for Super Cena, he starts off the show the same way he usually ends it. No surprise there. Ziggler will get his time though.

Because they have done the DX reunion so many times, The Wrestling Observer reports that WWE officials have discussed doing an Evolution reunion, possibly at the RAW 20th Anniversary show next week.
With Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton already in the building, the main issue would be getting Batista to come back for one night.
Regarding The Rock winning the WWE Title from CM Punk, there is a lot of talk that the title change won't happen at the Royal Rumble.
Instead, Rock would win the title at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in the Chamber main event.

WWE officially announce Mick Foley's induction into the Hall of Fame. Will be glad to see this as he deserves it, plus I will be there.

http://www.wwe.com/classics/wwe-hall-of-fame/mick-foley-to-be-inducted-into-wwe-hall-of-fame-26083400
- Spoiler:
- On Saturday, April 6, 2013, three-time WWE Champion, New York Times best-selling author and Hardcore Legend Mick Foley will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame ā¦ right here, in New York Cityās Madison Square Garden!
The beloved WWE Superstar who famously hitchhiked from upstate New York to MSG to watch his boyhood hero Jimmy Snuka battle Don Muraco in a Steel Cage Match is the first inductee announced for the Class of 2013.
A New York native, Foley grew up on Long Island in the 1970s, fantasizing about one day becoming a charming and attractive WWE Superstar known as Dude Love. His sports-entertainment career took a very different path, though, as he grew to become Cactus Jack, a lawless maniac from Truth or Consequences, N.M., who put his body through unspeakable trauma in the pursuit of mayhem.
Foley gained national attention in WCW in the early ā90s where his physical wars with Vader and Sting earned him repute as one of the genreās most exciting brawlers. (MORE ABOUT FOLEY vs. VADER) But it was in the macabre underworld of Japanese Hardcore Matches that the madman became a cult hero. Sports-entertainment fans across the globe traded grainy VHS tapes of Foley battling sadistic opponents in rings littered with barbed wire, broken glass and even C4 explosives. By the time he reemerged in the American wrestling scene in ECW, the videos had turned him into the most dangerous grappler on the planet.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross helped bring Foley into WWE in 1996 where he was reinvented as Mankind, a demented sociopath who lurked in boiler rooms and hid his scarred face under a leather mask. Mankind was every bit as reckless as Cactus Jack ā perhaps even more so. That was made clear at 1998ās King of the Ring event where he was thrown from the roof of the Hell in a Cell and plummeted 20-feet through an announce table below in what was the single most shocking visual in sports-entertainment history. (WATCH)
Somewhat unexpectedly, Foleyās willingness to sacrifice his body for entertainmentās sake endeared him to WWE fans. With that, the twisted, frightening Superstar revealed himself as a goofy, intelligent lug who wrote the tender, best-selling biography āHave A Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocksā and set a ratings record when he hosted a hilarious version of āThis Is Your Lifeā with The Rock on Raw in 1999. (WATCH) On the emotional night when Foley realized his childhood dream of winning the WWE Title, it felt like a victory not just for Mrs. Foleyās Baby Boy, but for the entire WWE Universe. (WATCH)
Mick Foley retired from full-time competition in 2000, although he would return to action on multiple occasions over the next decade ā most famously to battle Edge in a blistering Hardcore Match at WrestleMania 22. (WATCH MICK FOLEY'S HARDCORE MOMENTS) Still, Foley has stayed busy, performing standup comedy, publishing multiple books ā most recently with the childrenās holiday tale āA Most Mizerable Christmasā ā and leading a team into battle at the 2012 Survivor Series. But The Hardcore Legendās unique legacy as a Superstar who was somehow dangerous, goofy and intelligent all at once was cemented long ago.
Want to be in attendance when Mrs. Foleyās Baby Boy joins the WWE Hall of Fame? Tickets for the Induction Ceremony go on sale to the general public this Saturday, Jan. 12, at 10 a.m. ET, and will be available at the MSG box office, online at Ticketmaster.com, various Ticketmaster outlets, or charge by phone at 800-745-3000. Ticket prices range from $50 to $150.

One of the best stables ever. Batista's heel run before he left was pretty good though, it would be funny to just see him show up out of the blue after the way he left.
Still hoping Punk goes over Rock at RR without the clean pin, just to extend the feud another few weeks.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 2
There is talk within WWE that Randy Orton may need some time off this year for some kind of personal issue, reports PWInsider. No word yet on the issue but we do know it's nothing to do with an injury or Wellness.
Apparently it's some kind of family issue he will need to put time and attention into.
WWE officials actually discussed going against Brock Lesnar's planned dates and have him work the January 7th RAW but obviously decided against it. Lesnar isn't expected back until February.
A source confirms to PWInsider that we will indeed be seeing more than just a few familiar WWE faces in this year's 30-man Royal Rumble main event.
It was recently rumored that WWE was planning to bring back some midcard talents and some of those same names were on a list for surprise Rumble entrants.
Tommy Dreamer's name was brought up in a recent WWE creative meeting about a surprise entrant in this year's 30-man Royal Rumble match.

Not sure really. I don't really think it makes sense giving the title to Rock. He isn't going to be on RAW every week. However he could maybe win at the Royal Rumble and then lose it at Wrestlemania.

Re: The Official WWE Thread - Part 2
Eve Torres leaving WWE.
Eve is said to be burnt out from being on the road and has talked about taking time off to get married and work on her home, as well as other personal goals like her self-defense program for women.
That would put her next on the growing list of ladies departing WWE over the past year, right alongside Beth Phoenix, Kelly Kelly, Kharma, and Nikki and Brie Bella.
Recently, Torres was engaged to be married to Rener Gracie, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor from the famous Gracie family. Eve has become a spokeswoman and head instructor a self-defense program using the same name and at 28-years-old and on the cusp of starting a family, may want to ease off the brutal schedule wrestling with WWE demands.
