Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
Bayern are making some solid moves in the market. They are also after Alex from Chelsea!

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
They've already signed Manuel Neuer, who could be regarded as a brilliant signing if he continues his great form.kiranr wrote:Bayern are making some solid moves in the market. They are also after Alex from Chelsea!
To be honest, if their signings are able to gel with their current stars, I cannot see past Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga.

Jerome Boateng
The Bundesliga side confirmed on their official website that after lengthy negotiations they have settled on a transfer fee with Roberto Mancini's side.
At present that fee remains undisclosed.
Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "There have been some intense negotiations and we have come a long way to reach a satisfactory conclusion.
"With Jerome Boateng we have got our preferred candidate to play in central defence for Bayern Munich."
Boateng will leave City's pre-season tour to the United States and fly to Munich to undergo a medical.
The 22-year-old will then sign a four-year contract and return to Germany after spending one season in the Premier League.
City signed Boateng from Hamburg for £10.4 million prior to the World Cup finals last summer but he made only 14 Premier League starts for the club last season.
However it has been reported that City have asked for a far higher figure than that - perhaps as much as £18m.
Bayern sporting director Christian Nerlinger told the club's official website: "Jerome Boateng is a young German international, who fits perfectly into the philosophy of FC Bayern."

Congrats!
Finally your CB woes are coming to an end. Now just buy Another (not Alex) and you're set!

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
Zapata would have been so awesome at just 8m or whatever. I'm not sure we'll get another CB, but I'd love Alex (sorry, kick mars) .
Now for Vidal... come on Juve, you know you don't want him.

I consider bayern as one of my favourite teams so I hope you do buy another CB, you need it.

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
Definitely. I suspect Gustavo will be turned into a CB, for some reason. Not that that's bad, but it's not his natural position.
I can definitely see it happening with how cheap the management are.

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
TBH with Boateng doing the heavy lifting defence-wise, Badstuber might actualyl start to look good again. His playmaking abilities are really good for a CB and he really has his moments. I won't discount him until I've seen him play after being coached by Heynckes for a couple of weeks.

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
He'd also be covered by pure speed. We don't have a fast CB since what, Lúcio?VivaStPauli wrote:TBH with Boateng doing the heavy lifting defence-wise, Badstuber might actualyl start to look good again. I hope he's recovered completely from that knee injury, though. I would hate a Robben-at-CB sort of player.

Great signing by Bayern, they are going to be one of the main candidates for the CL next season.

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
I agree... they don't want to sell, though.
Inter backed out, Juve are focused on Rossi... let's hope Voller becomes desperate and sells him now. If not, we try getting him for free which would be pure sex.

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
he was terrible at cb and terrible at RB, he couldn't handle the epl's fast pace and needed time to adjust, and at man city he wasn't going to get time. overall it was a success for boateng, he got the money he wanted and now can move back to Germany.

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
He didn't really get a chance as CB though, did he? I don't think the pace necessarily was his problem.

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
England barely taxes footy players, though. But I don't think it was a money move anyway, it was a UCL-move. As is Bayern now.

Re: #17 - Jérôme Boateng
We still have one signing to go.
Its either Alex, or Vidal!
I think its going to be Vidal, but honestly I prefer Alex..
And it would be great if we got both
