Doesn't work that way in Europe because these competitions mean a lot to the smaller teams. And now that City are a good team again, everyone steps their game up against us.
Ah, so you got eliminated because the competition is too easy
Now it makes sense

We got eliminated because of SHOCKING errors (and a slip) from our backup players and goalkeeper (who tried to "cheat" on a free kick).Luca wrote:Ah, so you got eliminated because the competition is too easyanimal.crackers wrote:To be honest, after raping Porto 6-1 , we probably thought we could just show up and win against Lisbon.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I was looknig at the Uefa club coefficients, and Atletico Madrid got more points than Chelsea this season.Does anybody have an explanation for this?
So did Barca and Madrid, but I assume that's because of where they finished in La Liga.

Real Madrid, Barca and Atletico won more games in European competitions this season and hence they are ahead of Chelsea.
IMO, its a perfect way of rating the teams. Can any of the butt hurt fans come up with a better process of rating them? It'll create too much confusion.

Its about time we were ranked 1. It wasn't until Manchester United dropped out of Europa that made us go up to 1. Madrid goes ahead of Arsenal...

Updated main post for the play-offs.
The chances of Dortmund being a pot 4 team are extremely high (There are 8 clubs in the non-champions route and 3 in the champions route seeded higher than them) whilst the chances for PSG to be a Pot 4 team is plausible, but unlikely as it requires the elimination of BMG, Málaga, Lille, Udinese and Fenerbahçe from the non-champions route.
Well pretty much know after the draw whether PSG are guaranteed Pot 3, or if there's still a chance for Pot 4 depending on results.
All that's required for PSG to be guaranteed Pot 3 is for Braga and Kiev to be drawn against each other, or any of BMG, Málaga, Lille, Udinese and Fenerbahçe to be drawn against eachother.

Udinese should get past Braga, looking forward to seeing them in the competition proper. Even if a lot of people think it's a wasted spot.

Wow, the draw ended up in the ''Neutrals" favor.
It didn't determine anything and while the chances are still slim, PSG could still be a Pot 4 team.

I want this as well, only instead of Dortmund I'm hoping for PSG from pot 4. IT would be so amazing raping best teams from their respective leagues.
I like Dormund to much to wish for them to end up in such a group

Chances are slim; the Pot 4 possibility could have been eliminated in the draw but the draw came out in the only possible way where PSG still has a chance of being a Pot 4 team. (There are 7 teams left that outrank PSG, and none of them got drawn against eachother)
Dortmund will end up in an extremely tough group regardless, the chances of them staying a pot 3 team are as slim as PSG being relegated to Pot 4 :S
Whatever happens, this years CL group stages will be even more interesting than last years imo.
