Re: Summer 2012 Transfers Thread
Inter set sights on Dries Mertens (whoever that is)
The Belgium international joined PSV from Utrecht in the summer of 2011 for a fee in the region of €6.5 million, and has developed into a key player at the Eredivisie giants in his first season.
Mertens has a contract with PSV until the summer of 2016, and an offer in the region of €15m could be needed to lure him away from the Philips Stadium.
Inter will attempt to convince the Dutch giants to lower their demands by including young striker Luc Castaignos in the deal, but it is unsure whether PSV are interested in the Netherlands Under-21 star.
Mertens netted 21 goals in 33 Eredivisie appearances this season, while setting up 14 more.

i will get really mad if we sell castaignos, cz i feel he will be a great striker. loan him like we did for coutinho, he will gain experience and confidence, and next year we will use him to replace milito or so

Sport: “Stramaccioni Wants Bojan At Inter”
Sensational rumor launched by the Spanish newspaper Sport. It appears that Andrea Stramaccioni has explicitly called for the arrival Bojan Krkic, the player who is currently playing for AS Roma. On the Spanish talent are Liverpool and Schalke 04. There could have been a contact between the agent of the player to explore the possibility of a transfer to Milan.
But that’s not all, according to another Spanish newspaper, El Mundo Deportivo, Andrea Stramaccioni sees Bojan as a perfect talent for the schemes that he has in mind for the new Inter and he would fit in nicely the rebuilding process that Inter have in mind.

Paris Saint-Germain are on the verge of signing Ezequiel Lavezzi from Napoli, beating Inter to the creative attacker's signature, L'Equipe reports.

Re: Summer 2012 Transfers Thread
I hope Lavezzi doesn't go to PSG, even though it is looking likely. Why someone would leave Serie A to join a second tier league like Ligue 1 is beyond me. He should stay in Italy if he wants to improve his football.
Re: Summer 2012 Transfers Thread
if the italian teams keep doing so bad in the CL and mainly EL, Ligue 1 will take our place in the ranking and will have more teams in europe

Lucas Bid Rejected
Inter have offered €18m to sign Lucas, said the player’s agent, but Sao Paulo “immediately rejected the proposal.”
The Nerazzurri’s interest in the Brazilian is well known and it seems as if they will have to raise more funds to win this bidding war.
“An offer from Inter has arrived worth €18m, but I spoke to the Sao Paulo directors and they immediately rejected the proposal,” agent Wagner Ribeiro told Estadao.
“I contacted Inter to tell them the offer was rejected because it does not satisfy the club’s requests.”

No bro, it would be almost impossible to get Jovetic with the Delle Valle brothers there. They hate Moratti more than Juve fans do

I find it hard to believe that a team who won almost everything less than 3 seasons ago has become such a cheap and uninspiring team when it comes to transfers.

We've been cheap for years though...haven't spent more than 20million on a player since 2006...we just had a good coach and made a lot of great low-cost transfers that year

Re: Summer 2012 Transfers Thread
we're back in business
Mueller has Inter option
Thomas Mueller is considering an offer from Inter after admitting that he could leave Bayern Munich this summer.
The German is on the Nerazzurri’s transfer radar and he will ponder his future once Euro 2012 has come to an end.
“Given my present situation, I have to give it some serious thought,” the forward told Sport Bild on Wednesday.
“I’m a bit concerned by the fact that I was not always in the starting line-up for the important games. That was something new for me and caused me some problems.
“For now though I am just concentrating on Euro 2012.”
Inter in for Gago
Roma may no longer be interested in signing Fernando Gago – but Serie A rivals Inter allegedly are.
The Argentine international midfielder made 30 appearances on loan at Roma from Real Madrid this season, but the capital club have allowed a deadline to pay his €7m buyout clause to pass.
This morning's Gazzetta dello Sport contains suggestions that Inter will now step into the void and make a bid for Gago's services.
Maicon Could leave
“After six years at Inter, the time may well have come for Douglas Maicon to change scenery,” announced his agent.
There had already been rumours of the Brazilian full-back leaving the Nerazzurri and confirmation arrived this evening.
Maicon turns 31 next month and came to San Siro from Monaco in 2006-07, notching up 20 goals in 246 games for the club.
Calenda also commented on more potential signings for the Nerazzurri in Brazil.
Inter-Juventus fight for Verratti
Inter and Juventus did battle on the transfer market yesterday in their bid to sign Marco Verratti from Pescara.
Reports today suggest that the Nerazzurri were on the verge of landing the Under-21 international on Tuesday with the help of Genoa.
Inter and the Rossoblu had discussed the possibility of buying a half share each in the player, but allowing him to remain on loan at Pescara in 2012-13.
A deal with Pescara was practically done – until Juventus directors were made aware of the developing situation.
It is claimed that director general Beppe Marotta, who has made no secret of his attempts to sign the midfielder, rang Genoa chief Enrico Preziosi.
It is alleged that Marotta made it clear that future transfer deals between Genoa and the Old Lady may be jeopardised should the Grifone help Inter net the playmaker.
Juventus have offered Pescara €3.5m for a 50 per cent share in the youngster’s contract, as well a co-ownership agreement for Juve midfielder Manuel Giandonato.

Mueller would be amazing! but I doubt that will happen...
Gago would be a good replacement for Cambiasso if we can get him for cheap...
Maicon leaving... I will really miss him...
Verratti? Who is he? From his wiki page it says he is a juve supporter... so let him go to juve!

Inter Close in on Silvestre
Both Milan clubs are said to be interested in Palermo stopper Silvestre but, according to the Sicilian outfit's President, Inter have been more proactive in their efforts to land the Argentine.
“Silvestre has asked to leave and we will try to please him,” revealed Maurizio Zamparini in an interview with Tuttomercatoweb.
“Inter have taken important steps towards the player, while Milan have simply shown an interest.”
