Brazil are obviously favourites to win the tournament, playing at home. We come second, with Uruguay and Colombia following.

We're in a tough group. Hope we can win against Colombia tonight.

Richarlison was probably the best player out there last night though if we are being honest.

@rincon may the best team win tonight fam. I'll be going to a bar to watch both games today. Both teams have to win if they want to make it far into the tournament. A draw would be meh.

A bit of a strange lineup. Playing without any of Josef, Machis and Soteldo is unexpected. Conservative.

Could go either way in the second half.

Lets not exaggerate, our game had clearly less quality. Wont stop either Vzla or Peru from eliminating Argentina in the QFs.

But we don't really say that, do we? This argentina squad reached 3 finals in 3 years, it's clearly not nearly the bottom. After the WC the generation 'expired' and now the next gen is trying to take their place, but this won't happen over night. I will say the next gen doesn't look as promising but we'll have to see.

I'm not sure why people's expectations are high from us every year. Messi and Agüero aside, Colombia not only have a better squad but also a far better coach in Queiroz.

Comparatively, Scaloni was an interim coach who, because nobody wanted to take the job, was made permanent. And I see him getting sacked after Copa, a pattern that I've come to accept. We should have stuck with Batista/Sabella for longevity's sake at least, but in the end we either hired numpties with no clear strategies or good coaches who had zero ability to adapt to their squad.

Messi as the captain has been one of the most questionable appointments I've come to see in modern football, I really wonder what Barcelona and Argentina see in him. He might be the greatest player who has ever lived but for all I care the guy has zero charisma and zero ability to turn a demoralised squad around. And frankly it doesn't help when you see your captain walking on the pitch like he's having a stroll with his family in the Japanese Gardens.

And finally our squad is laughable, we have far overachieved with these lot. We had Guido Rodríguez and Renzo Saravia starting against Colombia ffs. Forget about Messi, even God himself can't win with such an awful squad :facepalm:

We haven't even produced any good youngsters for a long time now, judging by our domestic league, our top young players in Argentina are actually Uruguayans and Colombians these days. Imagine reading that 20 years ago, people would have laughed at you. But it is true.

In the end I watch every match and cheer my team already knowing we won't win jack.
