Arsenal players at Olympic games 2012

Downing and Carroll actually played well against Norway. It'll be interesting to see where Chamberlain, if he will actually start, will play. When he came on against Norway, he played up front with Carroll, so I wonder if he'll play there again alongisde (or just off, to be specific) Welbeck, or whether he'll play on the flank.

Oxlade-Chamberlain starts for England today, either on the left or right hand side. Not sure which.

Vermaelen starts for Belgium at left back.

Ox has played good so far

England won 1-0 again. Chamberlain played about 70 minutes and did well. Showed glimpses of his talent, but his touch was a bit loose at times and he overran the ball once or twice. Decent performance all in all.

Walcott came on for in and did well. Set-up two chances for Defoe.

Vermaelen had a good game, also.

Netherland 4-0 Northern Ireland so far (39min)

van Persie with two goals (one penalty) and one assist so far.

5-0 for the Dutch

2 goals and 2 assist for RVP

Holland 6-0 Northern Ireland

Van Persie was exceptional making 2 and scoring 2.

England 1-0 Belgium

Oxlade-Chamberlain played 66 minutes and was replaced by Walcott.

Vermaelen played the whole game at centre-back, captaining the side after Kompany's pre-match failed fitness test.

Arsenal are the best represented EPL club at the Euros,with 10 players.

Arsenal centre half Per Mertesacker is looking to claim bragging rights over his Gunners team-mate and captain Robin van Persie.

The duo will go head-to-head on June 13 when Mertesacker’s Germany face van Persie’s Holland.

“We are looking forward to seeing each other at the tournament,” Mertesacker said.

“He is our skipper [at Arsenal] and I always try to support him, but then everything changes.

“It is very, very strange to be opponents but as a footballer you have to cope with these situations and I look forward to seeing him.”

Laurent Koscielny could get a shock call-up by France against England.
The Arsenal centre-half picked up only his second cap in the 2-0 win over Serbia five days ago.

But he is being considered by boss Laurent Blanc because Milan defender Philippe Mexes has been in such poor form.

France play at home to Estonia in their final warm-up tonight before travelling to Ukraine ahead of Monday’s Euro 2012 clash against Roy Hodgson’s men.

Coach Blanc said: “Koscielny had a good game against Serbia, that’s good for him. But I don’t have any guarantees in defence.”

Szczesny is set to start in goal for Poland.

Russia v Czech Republic (7.45pm)

Arshavin & Rosicky are both set to captain their respective countries.

Szczesny just got a red card

I guess he is done with Euros.

He had nothing to do to prevent that red card, if he wouldn't get that red card Poland would lose that match 2-1. He basically helped Poland to get a point with his red card. Weird but helpful

He needs to improve his decision making, he is still young has makes harsh calls sometimes.

Anyways his Defense wasn't any help, they played the high line pretty badly

he didn't need to go in with his legs

yeah that full back made defensive line steep and played attacker inside
and his timing to step up was poor
so Sczzesny had no chance like urban said
lack of communication for the goal as well but attacker was kinda marked
not sure if it was necessary to come out of line or not

Poland 1-1 Greece

Szczesny sent off and at fault for the Greece goal. Sigh.

Arshavin with a beautiful assist for Russia's 2nd goal.

Shava is playing amazing in the middle. We don't need any CAM reinforcements, we need Wenger to open his eyes and play Arshavin centrally.

Arshavin isn't playing centrally, though. He's drifting inside from the left, and finding a ton of room becaus the Czech Republic can't sem to work out how to track runs.

All I see is him in the middle, haven't seen him on the left.
