Ah, you probably came in at the little spell after the first stages where it calmed down, Wade was missing shots and the Pacers bench came in and minus Collison and Barbosa...really sucked.

Win or go home.
Shit, I hate these games.Game against Dallas last year was just depressing, 3 after 3 after 3, it had me down for a while. I hope this one isn't as bad.
I'm depressed right now, I wanted San Antonio - LA ffs.....everything was set for Bynum in that series. Finally Kobe would have to defer for once in his life.
Anyway, I haven't given up on it yet.

Man, what a performance by Kobe, but the man can't do it all ffs. They seem so clueless on the offensive end without him on the court.
He goes to the bench for the start of the 4th for about 2 minutes, and OKC open up a huge lead. Westbrook's ridiculous AND1 (2nd one) changed the tide. Bynum was just dissapointing...couldn't hit a hook to save his life. Perkins is a top itnerior defender, but I still expected Bynum to have a bigger impact.
Gasol started the game well, battling for rebounds, good movement in transition, but slowly faded away in the 2nd half.
Spurs vs OKC is going to be tastyyyyy

Bynum is better than that, but he gave up , he gives up easily.
We need some scoring.
Not suprised about Kobe, he wasn't going out like last year, he has too much pride.
We can't handle Westbrook.People rave on about Durant and knock Westbrook, but the guy is different, he wins them so many games, people need to start giving him the credit he deserves.
I'm not sure how someone like Tony Parker is gonna handle him, but he'll give as much as he gets.

Didn't watch the game
But some of you are clueless... Great game by Kobe because he score 40+ points. The lakers record is horrible when Kobe scores that much it's like 1-10.
It's a horrible game by him because he should know how shitty his team becomes when he starts ball hogging.
And people still saying that the refs were great this game (all I watched was TNT halftime and post game ) the flagrant foul on World Peace sums up the refs for the lakers this whole series.
Lakers won't win another championship with Kobe. His body's *bleep* up. It's not a matter of age it's a matter of reps he has the body of a 50year old with all the games he's played.

It's sad , the main reason I wanted the San Antonio series is because that could be Bynum's series and Kobe would have to defer.
But Bynum is a dissapointment, he checked out today, but more than that he doesn't give a shit. There's stuff he can clearly do defensively with a little effort and he just chooses not to.
I think we can anyway, we just need another PG and a wing scorer.
I feel as though Jim Buss is ready to trade Gasol, which I don't agree with at all but intuition tells me it's going down.
Artest May get amnestied as well.

Bynum played shitty cause kobe ball hogged and he became disinterested in the game.
A lot of my post a couple a days ago about amnesting Kobe was because he was our closer and he *bleep* up closing game 2 and game 4 and the no trade clause(forgot he can waive it)
Game 2: 7 point lead with 2 minutes and we lost.
Game 4: 9 point lead and Kobe goes 1/7 down the stretch and blames Pau Gasol for the loss.
But he's still a good player but I'm tired of him though. He's only going to get worse. He has 1 year left. I'd rather trade him for Carmelo and I'd think he'd waive his clause to play with chandler and Amare because he would think he has a chance to win. But he wouldn't.
The Carmelo's trade would lead to World Peace being amnestied and still make the Gasol trade and sign nick young with the tpe. Nick Young is an above average defender and a good shooter. Kobe being gone means the ball will always go to Bynum and he will alway be engaged. Plus Carmelo is a better shooter than Kobe. Although a shit defender he makes up for it with his shooting.
Bynum need shooters like Carmelo to dominate.
Carmelo, nick young and Kevin Martin all shoot over 37% from 3. When they feed Bynum they'll end up with wide open looks.
Realistically the Lakers will trade Gasol for a pf and swing man which will be a great trade most likely. The trade the rockets tried to make would have been great. Scola will give you all the points Gasol does as 3rd in the offense and 8-9 rebounds. He would never go off like Gasol but he wouldn't need to. And he's a better defender.
Plus the lakers would have picked up a legit swing man in kevin Martin to back up Kobe at SG and World Peace at SF and a backup PG in Dragic that can light up. Some of the dumbass here act like he's garbage but their clueless. They only know of the lebrons and dwades of the NBA.
And they would still have the 8.9 mil tpe which they would probably use to sign a good 3pt shooting and defensive PF for the bench( LO type of player)
The most important thing the Lakers need to do is fire Mike Brown and the entire coaching staff. Brian Shaw should have been hired. He was well respected by the entire team and probably would have hired Kurt Rambis as his 1st assistant. Plus shaw can keep Kobe in check.
You can tell if you watch they lakers consistently this season that they hate their coaching staff and losing in the 2nd round won't make it better.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
I think you're kneejerking a bit, I mean he withstood this season, and this season is much tougher than the next. I'm not gonna worry about him other than him not deferring to Bynum again which is realistically the way it needs to be.
Carmelo is a bigger ballhog than Kobe lol.
Jim Buss is so high on Bynum, I won't be suprised if he brings in a stretch 4 to space it for him so that he can get more touches.
Mike Brown's been aight, this series is really not his fault, he might lose his job, but I don't particularly like anyone out there.
Maybe Jeff , Maybe Stan, I like the former but I don't see him wanting the job.
I wanted Adleman orginally....
I'd try to get Ryan Anderson,LO, Nic Batum and Dragic.....but that's just fantasy ........

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
Definitely not a knee jerk I watched 75 games last season 60 this season and all the playoff games. This is the realization I've come to. Everything came to a boiling point watching Kobe lose the Lakers the series in game 2. You can look back and I did say the series was over and guess what ? We lost in 5
Kobe will never defer to Bynum like he should while Carmelo coming in and being new to the team would. Especially If it was made clear that this is bynums team.
The lakers only have two types of offense really which is pound the ball to Bynum which isn't always effect because the lakers don't have respected shooters and Iso Kobe who is trash when played by Sefalosha.
The Gasol trade would help Bynum because it would bring in a shooter.
The Kobe trade would help Bynum because even though Carmelo is a ball hog he would defer to bynum and is a shooter as well.
There's no point in trading away Bynum as he is the only youth the lakers have. Which means trading Kobe to a contender in the east so he would waive his no trade clause. Or trading Gasol, or Both.
Bar Bynum, Sessions and Hill everyone should be on the trading block including Kobe.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
I watched a smaller number, about 50 this season, and the same last year and you have to admit, Kobe is better than he as last year.
This was a tough season and he played almost 40 minutes a game, the new coach coming in should play him 30 minutes game and put together a real rotation if we actually want him at his peak during the playoffs.
Thing about him right now, he's not a weakside player because he's a bit reluctant to go to the rim, so he trys to operate mainly out of the pinch post and becomes the crux of the offence.
He needs to work on his 3 to play weakside effectively.
Trading Gasol helps Bynum in that it opens up touches for him and spaces it for him if we get someone who actually needs to get covered in the corner.Bynum is doubled on every posession mainly because it's easy to rotate to Gasol if he passes out.Someone standing in the corner waiting to take a 3 will actually punish them for that.
I don't agree with you, but I get where you're coming from when I think about last season, but this season has been so much better, he's moving much better and he got back a step....even in the toughest season we've seen in 13 years, I can't help but think it'll get better for Kobe.
Everyone else is on the trading block, sure.
Kobe ain't gonna wake up tommorow and start running up the court and lobbing it to Bynum every posession....I don't expect him to. I said this, we need to transition like the Celtics did with a PG. He doesn't need to be a great PG , but he just needs to be respected enough and good enough to choose between Kobe and Bynum and take the ball out of Kobe's hands.
David Stern screwed us on that one.....

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
Kobe can't change like that. He's been in the nba 16 years he is not going to change for Bynum lol.
I wanted Brown fired about 1 month into the job when he was playing Kobe 40 mins a night like in the regular season like he was a 22 Lebron James.
Then again the lakers had no 2 guard to back up Kobe.
I just think Kobe's so used to being the man that Bynum will never reach his potential playing with him. I'd rather take 25 year old injuried Bynum over Kobe who's 50.
Kobe's worn the *bleep* out.
He has 230 ? Playoff games that's 3 extra seasons. He came in at 17 and he's 33 that's 16 seasons. 19 seasons if you count the playoffs. He can't keep it up.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
Lol what makes you think that though?
He got so much better from last year to this year, last year I swear he looked done.
This year he's moving well despite playing 40 minutes a night and the season being compressed....
A reduction in minutes and a normal season will go a long way next year, I think he has 3 years left.
Look at Paul Pierce though, for a long long time he was very similar to Kobe and then Rondo came in and started distributing. You know, it's a longshot but maybe we could make a run at Nash because we need someone to get the ball out of Kobe's hands.
Then he won't need to be on the court 40 mins a game and Bynum will get his shots.
He doesn't need to change...I don't think he can.

My bad I misread what you wrote. I thought you wanted to try and convert Kobe to our PG lol.
That's why I said he can't change.
Another subject based on Bynums post game interview if I was the GM of the Brooklyn nets I would try and trade for Bynum. Start getting pieces etc.
Give D wills max contract and Bynum close to max. Maybe resign Wallace.
I would become a nets fan.

Feel sorry for Kobe, it was clear what was going to happen.
He was putting on a massive effort early and obviously towards the end he wasnt going to have the same wind in the sails.
OKC move on, them and Spurs will be a great match up. No idea who wins.

Spurs in 4
Spurs record in the last 31 games including the playoffs is 29-2
1 loss Parker, Duncan, and ginobili were all rested, the 2nd was when the lakers creamed them at home without Kobe... Kobe came back and got destroyed by the spurs twice...the lakers summed up for you...

What a joke of a list. Kemba > Knight, Thomas, Parsons, Derrick Will etc. Can't possibly have a Bobcat player on any of these lists though...

The Lakers as a team are basically just Kobe + a bunch of pussies
Its truly a testament to Kobe himself that he won a f*cking title with these scrubs just three short years ago
Sixers sucked last night and Im not even sure what happened...Brandon Bass just came out of nowhere and blindsided us I guess, and there was far too much poor decision making in the offensive zone

No No No .
Calm down...right now it's different, but we all saw Gasol dominate Howard and KG in consecutive finals.
Gasol won us game 7 lol.
I dunno WTF is wrong with him now but the last thing I want is people to spread Kobe did it by himself crap, Pau and Lamar were immense.

Can't blame Pau really. After watching his team trying to trade him all last summer, who wouldn't lose some of that edge.
Reports coming out of Orlando that Dwight wants out, even after the firing of Van Gundy and Smith. (Douche much?) I know he wouldn't be an improvement in scoring and offensive movement, but still a talent.

Re: the official Dwayne Wade >>> you thread
I think the team dynamic has just changed and Pau no longer how a clear defined role and doesnt know how to assert himself.
Before Bynum and Odom was basically working around him and Kobe on offence. Odom was high post feeder meanwhile when Bynum wasnt injured he wasnt basically a defensive presence who got alley oops and offensive rebounds.
Now, people are actively looking for Bynum, more than Pau and he is the one working in the post.
Pau is now the 3rd option and thats a really difficult role to play. If its 2 guys and everyone else filing a role, much easier..but a legit 3rd option is hard. Look at Bosh first season, just had no idea.
Pau has become basically a jumpshooter. When he ventures in the post, its not the same established touches, its not the same, we are coming to you 3, 4 times out of 7, 8 possessions. Not to mention, there is no Phil Jackson and the magic traingle which naturally creates for you.
Pau really needs trading, for various reasons, his inability being a 3rd option being top of that list.
On the Lakers, I have noticed some errie similarities with Barca...more on that another time perhaps..but yeah, we cant stand pat and hope for the best like the Lakers did lol

Uhm what?
Gasol won you game 7 in what? In 09 the Lakers beat the Magic in 5, and in 08 they lost to the Celts in 6? What game 7 is this?
Also don't revise history...Gasol NEVER "dominated" Howard...he got the better of him in one game (can't remember if it was 4 or 5) - I remember Dwight pulling in just shy close to 20 boards in almost every game of that series, and didn't he even get something obscene like 23 rebounds in one of the games?
Never dominated Garnett either...Played equal to him, I'll give you that, but saying he dominated him is a joke
I dunno where I was for this Lamar Odom being "immense" thing either...Odom's a solid player but thats it...Any team here he is the first or second option is a trash team (See: LA Clippers) He's an above-average player who excels given a role where he's put under little pressure, thats all
LA won that series cause Kobe did Kobe...putting up 30+, coming up in key moments and getting his teammates just enough involved to vary their offense... and the Magic didn't have anyone who could score consistently enough to keep up

The Franchise wrote:I think the team dynamic has just changed and Pau no longer how a clear defined role and doesnt know how to assert himself.
As in Pau = Iniesta? I see it a bit.
Pau did very well IMO, but yea....I agree with everything you say.Kobe's changed a bit as a player as well, he's not a ballhandler per-se anymore, he needs post touches to be effective.
Post is crowded, everyone Artest, Kobe, Bynum , Gasol all do their best work their and Sessions is a driver.
We have no spacing, and Artest don't run cuts (not his game) and no perimeter threats.
Eventually you just get crowded.
I hope we get a PG for Pau, we can pick up other stuff in free agency, but we need a PG to take the ball out of Kobe's hands like Rondo did with Pierce.
