Neuer
Rafinha-Boateng-Tymoschuk-Lahm
Kroos-Schweinsteiger
Robben-Mueller-Ribery
Gomez

To be honest I'm a little bit scared. Especially about Tymo playing CB. I'm also in favor of playing Contento instead of Rafinha.

I'm totally for playing Contento, as to leave Lahm on his best flank. That's pretty much my starting lineup, yeah. Chelsea's is similarly defensively shaky. I mean, Terry and Ivanovic are out.

Same feelings about Contento vs. Rafinha. In the few games he's played Contento has impressed me more than Rafinha, and imo is not that much of a drop in quality. And then you add to that that Lahm seems to have forgotten how to defend the left flank o_O makes the decision pretty clear to me.

After Schweini's injury I would've been worried about a Schweini destroyer and Kroos CM but we can definitely pull it off since Kroos has massively improved as a DM/CM over the past few months and I'm really not that worried about the midfield vs Chelsea

The biggest worry though is Tymo on for Badstuber. Compared to the other two suspensions that's a massive drop in quality imo.

Good thing Heynckes played Gustavo + Tymo as CB's last game, gave them some experience. even though they have some from the LvG days.

It is kinda heartbreaking that the three most improved players this season are the ones that miss out on the final Sad

Do you have an ideal when he'll be back, I hope he makes it in time for this match...

Unfortunately I don't know. But he was doing slow build-up training as far as I read, so in 3 weeks - who knows?

Àctually at hindsight, and if DvB can get fit I'd prefer him over Tymo, DvB has proved he still has the brains, and partnering Boateng makes up for his shortcomings, whilst with Tymo and Boateng we don't have any real "strong" CB's on the pitch. DvB was instrumental in our clean sheet run and also kinda deserves a spot in the final if you think about it it.

It's looking more and more to me that it's going to bet Lahm + Contento as fullbacks in the UCL final.

Contento is improving really fast with this regular playing time.

Well, I hope that Mario Gómez will simply finish off all his chances (not so easy against Petr Cech, of course), for when the defense is dubious, Bayern can always try to outscore them. Very Happy

BTW, who'd have thought that people would one day get scared when Holger Badstuber doesn't play! I can still well remember when many Bayern fans would have loved to pack him into a rocket and shoot him to the moon Razz

Bayern fans are worried because there's no Decent CB to come in, if Van Buyten wasn't injured no one will be this worried.

especially when you look at Tymo Horror show against Koln

DVB would solve a lot of problems, his main weaknesses, Boateng can cover.
Contento and Lahm on the pitch will work well, and Kroos plus Piggy at DM will mean Bayern will try to retain possession and build the play up from deep, since Kroos is missing up front, so it'll probably be the front-four trying to tear the defense apart somehow, creating space, so they can get through-balls from deep from either of Schweini or Kroos.

This could work, and probably will work, but it will be nowhere as solid as it would've been with Gustavo and Badstuber in the starting XI, and Alaba missing - well, it's not like the system is missing a specific role now, but Alaba was just so great in the last dozen or so matches.

It has never worked and it will never work, it look sexy on the paper but it's useless whenever Bayern use it.

I rather we bench Kroos and play Tymo and Muller for the sake and balance of the team, rather than trying to create space for individual players.

Best bet DVB return, and we play this line-up.

-----------Neuer-----------------
Lahm---DVB---Boateng---Contento
-------Tymo--Schweini-----------
Robben-----Kroos--------Ribery
-----------Gomez----------------

Alaba will definitely be missed. He's been magical combining with Ribery on the left.

I thought there was a chance that Van Buyten would be back for the final. No updates?

And here's some positive news! Van Buyten has returned to training and could possibly play this weekend....

Contento and Ribery haven't had enough time to play with each other properly and it seems like Alaba and Ribery get along well better than Contento and Ribery, but nevertheless I am sure Contento will slut in well, he's a determine and talented young lad like Alaba, they both have the-same passion but they just show it in a different weight.

DVB has started training with the team, but the only problem now will be lack of match practice, I hope he's able to get some playing time in the reserve team.

He's doing his best to return before the Final

Yeah. I heard that DVB wanted to try and play a match with Bayern II. I hope everything will be fine with him, even though Regionalliga Süd isn't CL of course Very Happy
