Great article man, i have felt for a long time that the whole "PL Proven" mantra is bs but never had the stats to back up my argument.....
Just look at our transfers for example, they all adjusted almost straight away and pretty much all of them had no PL experience at all, to me if your good enough you can play in any league.
I would argue some foreign stars that were bought this summer have adjusted quicker to the PL than some english stars have to joining another club.
The likes of Mata, Toure, Silva, Cabaye etc etc adjusted quicker than the likes of Downing, Carroll and Henderson did to me.
Also it's not just in england where this mantra seems to dominate thought, in Italy teams like Genoa and Fiorentina tend to mainly buy " Proven Serie A players" while the likes of Lazio and Udinese tend to scour the globe for talent.
Is it a coincidence that Lazio and Udinese are more successful? i dont think so.
In any case a great article that i enjoyed immensely well done

Good work Cutter. While I dont have time to write (and neither do I regard my own opinion high enough), I do hope that our forum and your website can develop a good relationship through which both sites can benefit. Maybe we can supply a lot of new readers and you place some links to here so we can get some new posters?

Thank you Saetablanca. That's the hope mate. I've only been on one other forum in the past and the collaboration we built up proved very fruitful for us both.

Are you still talking in more writers? I currently write for SabotageTimes, which is pretty big, SB Nation (Busy Babe, Manchester United section), and I run my own blog: http://siralexfergusonstand.wordpress.com/

Il Capitano, I have to head out now but will send you a PM when I return later. I worked for the Sab Times for much of last year before going solo.
I will also contact the people recommended. Cheers lads.

Re: Football writers wanted
With next weekend signalling the end of the Championship season we’re running a Championship special in the Cutter for Sat/Sun.
If you support a team from that division I was wondering if you fancied taking part? Any contribution will of course be hugely appreciated and can be about anything you wish concerning your club – favourite moment this season, an over-view of the season as a whole, a heads-up on any youngster who has broken through this year, top 5 goals….as long as it is over 400 words it’s in.
I will be asking other writers to do similar with their clubs and will devote the entire site to the Championship.
If you're interested contact me at ste.thedaisycutter@gmail.com
For my part I will be writing about the prolonged demise of Coventry.
