Football writers wanted
Hi all,
I run a football website called the Daisy Cutter. It's a daily online magazine that gets thousands of readers per day (two weeks ago we reached nearly half a million in one week). We are Newsnow accredited and we're fast growing into one of the best football sites around.
I won't provide a link but it's easily found on Google.
Due to the constant requirement for fresh content we are currently looking for new writers/contributors so if you fancy penning something on anything that is football-related - from a considered article to an opinion piece to a Top 10 feature - give me a shout at
ste . thedaisycutter @ gmail . com
If you have aspirations of taking your writing further then we can certainly help - already a number of our writers have gone on to other things directly through being published with us - or if you simply want to share your views on an abject manager, favourite under-rated player, or dysfunctional team then please feel free to get in touch.
There is no word-count limit (though the average is usually between 500-1000 words) and the only thing we're not really interested in are straight-forward match reviews.
Our aim has been to build up a community of passionate and knowledgeable writers and with that we've been successful. We promote you the best we can utilising our contacts and provide a broad platform. In return we get great content.
When it works it is a win-win situation.
Cheers for reading this and a sincere thank you to the admin for allowing this post. Following this I will take off my Cutter hat and join in with the discussions elsewhere as a respectful poster.

Why would this be locked? It's an opportunity some people here might like.

Re: Football writers wanted
I'm afraid I cannot pay for content - I wish I could.
The site only has one main advert and that paid for a Xmas booze-up. That aside it's a non-profit making operation which I do for two reasons -
1/ Because I love football
2/ Because I want to make the Cutter into one of the biggest and best sites around with a community of writers and affiliations with other decent sites and forums.
From that hopefully will come some degree of revenue but hardly huge by any stretch.
What I can offer however, as stated in the original post, is a platform for people to get their words, talent and thoughts across to a lot of readers.
And I wont state who but some of those readers are pretty influential in the journalistic and wider media fields.
In addition the Cutter is getting a name for itself so - if I say so myself - its a decent online publication to be associated with.
We recently went 'viral' with an open letter to the Sun newspaper following their picture of Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the White Hart Lane and we broke an Everton takeover story that was intitially denied by the club (and bizarrely the local press) before eventually being confirmed by them and us being stated as the source on Sky Sports News and the Daily Mirror.

Re: Football writers wanted
Absolutely Vivabarca38. If someone writes for the Cutter they can either send a short biog promoting their other work, Twitter link etc (if they do a blog for example) which goes into the 'Meet The Cutters' section or beneath the article I can include a link to here.
Will also shortly be including here on the 'related links' on the site.
Should say too, I have already had two responses but as private messages.
Because I'm a newbie I cannot yet use the PM facility so I'm unable to respond.
Can the two lads please e-mail me at -
ste . thedaisycutter @ gmail .com
(Had to space it as e-mail addresses arent allowed in posts for new posters)

Re: Football writers wanted
Well, you are welcome to post here, too, of course. I think this might become a fruitful cooperation then
BTW, how do you cope with the rights situation of pictures? Do you ask for permission to publish them or do you just publish them and hope no one objects?

Welcome Daisy Cutter
I had a look at the website and it look great. Nice work man.
Maybe I'll pen an article or two in the summer when I'm off work.
Either way enjoy the paradise that is Goallegacy.

If we read a good piece of his website can we bring it hear and make a thread to discuss it or is that prohibited?

Re: Football writers wanted
You want a good writer?
PM MessiXaviesta NOW
I can't guarantee he'll do it, in fact I don't think he will since I don't see him around much atm, but he's easily one of the best in this whole place. Very knowledgeable, esp. about Barca.
Bazinga is good too if you can reach him, I know he's done some articles for the Bleacherreport or whatever.

You should message Samuelj29060. He's a poster on here and the best football writer that I know of, he does his own stuff. I'm sure he'd be interested.
