lawl, we might take him on the tour and then loan him somewhere in france, he is truly great, one more season in france can make him even better.

Because Mourinho never liked canales, and if ozil got injured in the first weeks we would have no cam.

I think it's a decision Valdano took before mourinho came in, and he chose not to interfere. He had just signed for the club etc...

also, Varane's mom didnt want him to come here since he needs to play, so either there is a plan to use him, which i doubt, or we will loan him, which makes sense. He barely started playing, it's only to be expected

Canales should of been loaned out as well. There were rumours he would be loaned out when we signed him but he eventually stayed.

On a more serious note how's he going to get games for Madrid with Carvalho, Pepe and Albiol all ahead of him. Garay and co also. Jose doesn't normally rotate his defenders.

Garay looks like he will be sold

Also he plays as a DM destroyer much like Pepe can. So if Lass is sold he will get minutes there as well. Also Carvalho is getting on abit, he might transition with Varane between games.

Ramos x Pepe is likely to be the starting 2 if Coentrao is indeed the inverted RB

Albiol and Carvalho will be rotating, i suspect he will give more look to Albiol and use Carvalho in more important moments since he is more experienced, but it might be his last year so we need to prepare Albiol even more.

Garay and the 'new pique' mateos are likely going out.

Varane is a prodigy, very mature, physically and mentaly but i think he will go on loan back in France.

He might come back next season as Carvalho's contract expires, but i do want him to stay in france 2 seasons, there is no rush.

It looks like that Varane will indeed be part of the Real Madrid squad next season, no loan deal back to France or such.


Raphael Varane will play for Real Madrid next season - Lens president

Lens president Gervais Martel has revealed that young defender Raphael Varane will wear the colours of Real Madrid in the 2011-12 campaign.

The 18-year-old centre-back is one of the most sought-after young players in Europe and has also caught the attention of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Lille.

However, after the Ligue 2 side confirmed that negotiations with Madrid had begun, Martel claimed that the Spanish giants' offer had proved to be too good to turn down for Varane, and added that he had discussed the move with France legend Zinedine Zidane, as reports suggested yesterday.

"He will be playing for Real Madrid next year under the guidance of Jose Mourinho. They have already met and he's been in touch with [Zinedine] Zidane too," said Martel, according to France Football.

"He is an exceptional guy and I'm proud that he will be wearing the Madrid jersey. They have been following him for the last two months and he visited their facilities. He told me that he could not turn down this opportunity. He is a phenomenon."

The France under-21 international made his official Lens debut in November 2010 and had since developed into a key player at the recently-relegated outfit, prompting interest from across the continent.

I really don't think he will get much playing time.
