I don't think we can do better than Varane. The days of Pepe-Ramos like partnerships are long gone. Teams don't have that anymore. Heck Pique survived 3/4 NT team coaches and he isn't even better than Albiol. For what we need Varane is adequate. He could be alittle bit more aggressive but I have stopped wishing for a true heir to Pepe.

Varane has different qualities but if he works on his lack of aggressiveness and his inability to find a teammate from a defensive header and being able to use his height as an advantage on deadballs offensively and not head every ball to row Z he'll the best in the world. Right now I feel like there's so much more he could give but both Pepe and Ramos didn't really get going until their late twenties so Varane is still in his early days

Pepe gained consistency and became world class at 30. Varane's been world class since 2012

So we just gonna act like the mistake wasn't Varanes fault lol

The goal was all on Varane. In fact the 3 goals that were scored against us in the past 2 games were all thanks to the defense.

So we're just ignore the potential red card that he got but got bailed out by VAR. He is not fast enough off his line.

It's obvious Varane has been below par but that game showed me why Navas is twice the goalkeeper.

Also, worry about your own sorry ass countries players.. Still waiting for Cameroon to have a player of note besides Eto'o.
