When Julian Brandt got into the DFB dressing room yesterday he was frantically searching for his usual jersey with the Nr.24. In the post match interview he admitted that he was at first shocked and feared he wasn't in the team at all. Only a little later he was told that he was now given the Nr.7 that was formerly Bastian Schweinsteiger's number. cheers

Norway were terrible, yes. However I liked the way we played. A lot of runs, a lot of through balls. It's fun.

Kimmich has A LOT to learn and improve still, and I'm far from convinced his defensive game at RB is good enough to find a permanent place at that position, at top level i.e. Bayern.
I'm looking forward to being convinced in the future though.

Götze, I have no words for this guy.
Everyone who ever hated on him at any point in time (and I defended him many times against what I thought was unjustified hating) was right.

Brandt no 7, I like it. Looking forward to seeing the kid photographed in Lederhosen.

I also have to mention that I'm very optimistic about the futures of both Meyer and Weigl, who are brilliant, even if they have yet to get a proper cap outside Olympa or friendlies.

Do hope as well that Goretzka gets over his injuries, of the current youngsters, I probably like him the most. No special reason for that, just enjoy the way he plays.

BTW agree with Hans about the performance regarding the attack movements. A lot of speed, a lot of creativity in that. Norway were shit, but a lot of we did yesterday was objectively hard to impossible to defend. Good stuff. If we keep that up, we're back to old scoring habits.

Though then again maybe it's confirmation bias - I just prefer a bit more risk and more chances created over keeping possession at all costs..

I didn't watch the game, from all your comments it seems like Germany played a significantly different and good game.

What changed? what's Low/the players doing differently?

Not significantly different.

I think we played similarly already in the semi against France, actually even better.
Have to say that semi was possibly the best game I've seen from the German NT.

The only difference then was that Müller was completely off, while he seems to have refound his mental and physical agility again now.
Müller's terrible, absolutely abysmal showing at the Euro, on top of Gomez' injury, is the main, possibly only reason why we are not European champions.
We certainly were the best team by far except for individual strength in said attacking positions.

I still wonder why Jogi Löw doesn't even try to add André Hahn and Lars Stindl. IMO they would certainly not be worse than, say, Mario Götze.

All current players at Gladbach with German passport - could be a full German 11, too....

Was thinking maybe Castro or Timo Werner might get picked, but no real surprises.

Cant remember the last time  I saw Gundogan play for Germany.

I do hope to live to 2020, though who knows? But JLow is signed up for 4 more years.

The fact is outside of that bad patch from or maybe after Berti Vogts to Jurgen Klinsmann, the national team have been stable with keeping managers. I can only think of five NT managers;
Herberger
Schoen
Derwall
Franz
JLow

Maybe after I die and then JLow dies, Miro will become the new national team coach?

Gnarby has probably been Werder's only bright spot this season, not sure he should be picked for the NT, but good for him.

Henrichs looked good vs Spurs and has been decent from what I have seen of him this season.

I like Tah as an up and coming defender, I would like to see Sule picked as well. Dont know anything about the new Wolfsburg guy.

No, I know that.

But a Kimmich-Kroos or Kimmich-Gundogan midfield would be pretty GOAT in his current form.
