2-3 lol this result is so wrong on so many levels
but imagine we lost 3-2 with nobody interested in this game while the argies treated it like a wc game we could definitely have won if it was a real wc game.

3-2 without our starting starting striker AND the second striker so we played with our third and fourth striker and the argies had all just look at the third goal is that a sign of a team motivated??
look at our game vs holland when we were forced to win not taking anything away from Argentina at all we played like this against brazil and they mauled us

you really believe sweden is better then argentina? your game vs holland was lucky. sweden has one of the most horrible defenses.

I just feel we can win. we are not better than them at all thy have better players than us in all positions bar ibra but games are not played on paper and we have showed before that when we are forced to win we deliver. I agree our defence is the worst set of players ever played as pros and that needs to change. we have conceded nine in three games that's apalling. Argentina treated this as a game they had to win whereas we just treated it like a friendly you just want to get out of the way and we came away with a 3-2 and this without our striker. the etriker who played is like 36 something and plays in the swedish league he wouldn't even have been called had the others not been injured. also the holland game was not "luck" we deserved the win

How is a convicted criminal on a street? If he served his sentence than, he paid his dues. Well it is Sweden, so you cant expect harsh sentences even for people who deserve a chair.

Re: La Selección Argentina
Did you watch the game? You're reading too much into a score line that was very flattering to Sweden and the gap could easily be 2 goals higher.halamadrid2 wrote:Collblanc wrote:halamadrid2 wrote:we could definitely have won if it was a real wc game.

Re: La Selección Argentina
Sweden is 100x the tactical side Argentina is... that counts for a lot. The issue is athleticism. They don't have a lot of athletes.
But if Zlatan is on, watch out. He can equalize a lot of things. Just ask England, France and Germany. Truly a game changer.
Besides... Argentina has marvelous forwards & AMs, one good central midfielder (Mascherano) and everything else is either meh or crap. Hardly a well rounded team.

Re: La Selección Argentina
You cant watch Argentina much Sports.
Mascherano hasnt been good for them from the games I see, Gago is fantastic for them and Di Maria plays in midfield.
Really, the team is good and well rounded other than leftback and one centerback spot I would say is a question mark.

Re: La Selección Argentina
Zlatan was on for a half, he didn't even get a shot in.
And stop underrating Argentina. In the midfield of Di Maria, Gago and Masche they all usually perform very well (Masche usually the weakest link of them, though), Garay is a good player, so is Coloccini, Zabaleta is having the season of his life, and Romero and Campagnaro are reliable if not much more than that. It's true that the attacking talent vastly exceeds the defensive talent, but it's not a team full of scrubs as you make it seem.

But that was the criticism of Sweden yesterday Sports. They just weren't wanting to play as they usually do under Hamren. Usually you would see a steady wing back counter which evolves with heavy possession retained by Ibra's #10 role in spreading the play around until he either picks a final ball or he is supplied well enough within the outside baseline of the box.
Goal down or not they were just content to just sit deep without even the intention to counter. That style alone is the complete opposite of which will take advantage of Ibra's playing preference. He was subbed off after the first half due to all of the CL-based Swedish players needing rest before hand. But it will disappointing to see the Swedes play such a way and essentially hinder their best player's strengths. Really don't know what Hamren was thinking as though their squad was not at full strength as Hala said.

Re: La Selección Argentina
Anyone else feeling slightly optimistic about our defense right now?
Garay, Campagnaro and Zabaleta are all having very strong seasons. Ansaldi got a shot (although as a Di Maria sub). Coloccini is part of the team now and will get tested eventually. And Sabella has gradually phased out the former estudiantes players out of the team (ie: Fernandez is next).

Re: La Selección Argentina
The transition has been very smooth. The team has an identity now, and our counterattack is probably second only to Germany. Yet still, we can play possession based football (much more direct than barca, but still less direct than madrid- kind of a hybrid). Defence can be a problem, but we still have a bit of time to get that sorted out. Sabella has done a good job. He started with players he knew, then he slowly phased them out as he got a better idea of each player's strengths and weaknesses, and implemented a plan which could allow us to play the fantastic 4 at their best, yet not allowing TOO much defensive frailty.

Re: La Selección Argentina
- Spoiler:
Goalkeepers:
Sergio ROMERO
Mariano ANDUJAR
Defenders:
Pablo ZABALETA
Federico FERNANDEZ
Ezequiel GARAY
Jose BASANTA
Hugo CAMPAGNARO
Marcos ROJO
Midfielders:
Javier MASCHERANO
Pablo GUINAZU
Angel DI MARIA
Walter MONTILLO
Ever BANEGA
Augusto FERNANDEZ
Jose SOSA
Forwards:
Gonzalo HIGUAIN
Rodrigo PALACIO
Ezequiel LAVEZZI
Lionel MESSI
Sergio AGUERO
Franco DI SANTO
Ansaldi is gone that lasted long meanwhile scrubs like di santo sosa guinazu (who is not bad just old) and augusto fernandez get constant call ups
Palacio instead of Gaitan... Instead of using Montillo or Sosa as Di Marias sub it should be Gaitan as he is a very similar player and suits his role well.
Seriously though, where in the actual fck is Gagiesta? We're going to lose ffs. I'm pretty pissed at this list.
