Biglia and Montillo are not going to cut it, why doesn't Lamela get more call ups?

ur right. Lamela doesnt get called up because hes a forward, hes not really going to playmake and thats what we need.

Biglia is 3rd choice and montillo is supposdd to be the defensively solid option... which so far he is not.

I genuinely hope Messi doesn't play. With 10 men all we don't need is some player who's walking in the pitch.

What a horror show from the ref, I saw him more than any player on the field. Stole a goal from Argentina and completely favored Colombia throughout the game.

Yeah it was probably a wrong decision but it was tight. Messi was part of the play and the tape is basically inconclusive. It's understandable. All in all we don't have anyone to blame but the players really, this game could have been easily lost or won.

Biglia sucked, dude had no grit or steel. A couple decent Gagiesta-esque passes but other than that he was far less effective than our other midfielders have been. I prefer almost any other of our midfielders over him at this time.

Rojo and Zabaleta were getting burned way too often and this defense still looks like it can concede a goal at any time. These two have to really step it up in the world cup as these still are our problem positions. Fede is too unreliable, if Colo can play the role he does and better he should play. Garay is all about the subtle work however he can be underwhelming at times, he's probably the best CB we have though.

The attack without Messi was making me want to pull my hair out Aguero: too individualistic and dribbling himself into dead ends. Higuain: looked like his Real Madrid self, missing easy chances when the pressures on, working hard but not being effective enough, however the disgraceful kick out at Zapata was way out of character, but it was in the heat of the match and hopefully like Aguero its a one time thing. Di Maria: great in the first half hour or so but was similar to Aguero in dribbling into defenders. He did create our best chances though and on another day he would have had 2+ assists. Montillo: pretty meh, though he put in a good defensive shift, as did the whole team. Still since we were down to 10 it was a lot harder on the attackers, I will give them that.

Our pressing was unreal in the first half up until the red card, Colombia were suffocated and we created quite a few good chances from winning the ball up the field.

tl;dr we need gago and messi back

yeah Ever has been really good for Valencia, I hope he will carry that on against Ecuador.

I personally thought we looked pretty good until the double red. True, Falcao got a golden chance of the type he doesn't usually miss, but other than that we were creating so many chances I was sure Higuain's next would go in. Without Higuain the defense no longer had a 9 to worry about and create space for us and they looked much more comfortable. Recall that through ball by Montillo early on the game, Aguero never provided that kind of option for our midfield.

Btw Albi you thought Montillo was good defensively? He got roasted multiple times, lost his mark often, and was a turnover machine. I really did not see the defensive benefit he was supposed to provide. Di Maria made too many stupid passes for my liking. Rojo our worse player of the night. Ecuador will prove to be a better test for us assuming the ref doesn't ruin that game too.

Also, if Messi is not fit to play 90 minutes he is not fit to play 30 minutes. Why can't any coach get that through their heads?

Argentina have some serious attacking talent. Its really just ridiculous. Messi, Aguero, Higuian, Tevez, Lavezzi, Di Maria, Pastore, Lamela, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some others as well. Too bad they don't have a defense...

Actually Rojo's chance was better than Falcao's.
