I want Sabella to experiment with 3 man defense formations. We have a much better selection of center backs than fullbacks and this allows for us to play with more midfielders.

we should try this out some time. 3 rock solid CBs with good passing skills in defense. Zabaleta and Di Maria running up and and down the flanks tirelessly with Gago and Biglia helping protect the back 4 but also distributing well but they slightly lack penetration in their passes. Messi dropping deep to support Kun and Pipa with passes, although I think we should try playing Lavezzi or maybe even Lamela instead of Higuain, since I don't think there is enough room for Kun Pipa and Messi playing all in attack.

-------------------Romero
-------Mascherano - Garay - Campagnaro
Zab --------- Gago ------- Biglia ------- Di Maria
----------Messi ---- Higuain ---- Aguero

Tevez has an awful understanding with Messi. The two simply don't work together. Messi and Higuain/Aguero have a fantastic understanding though. Not to mention that Tevez' personality is prone to infighting and other issues that are simply not needed in an area where Argentina has plenty of talent.

I've sorted out my winter plans and it looks like I'll be home for the next 4 months (with a month-long stay in Italy to see family, probably in June), anyone know what the Argentina NT friendly/qualifier looks like?

Is the friendly home?

I need to take advantage of la seleccion playing at the monumental as much as possible, Boca is building a bigger stadium by 2015 which is obviously going to be much more modern than our relic, and that's at the other end of the city rather than a 25 minute walk.

Lamela scores his 3rd Roma goal with this amazing freekick, about time he scored one he was brilliant at setpieces with River I remember.

honestly, if they come good, then I see no reason that they shouldn't be starting by next year. With Garay, Coloccini, Pezella, Pirez we should be good for 2014 in terms of CBs.

I really want to see the "Argentine dani alves" aka Matias Rodriguez because FBs have always been a problem for the NT

I agree with your sentiments shini, Matias could really add width and another dimension to our game we have been lacking. I'd like to see Matias at RB and Zabaleta at LB next international fixture.

Pirez and Pezzella are very young, I don't trust them at all really, I have my doubts they will make it to the 2014 WC but I don't think we will need them as we have plenty of options at CB although none really standout.

Ffs why is Sabella so keen on calling up players who are not worthy Mad

Oh well I'm very happy Biglia got called up.

Romero
Matias - Campagnaro - Mascherano - Zabaleta
Salvio - Gago - Biglia - Di Maria
Messi Kun

Looks like 442 on paper but essentially is a 4231 with Messi dropping deep.

I wish.

But it's not going to happen for (at least) two reasons:

1) Sabella has already said he's going to use mascherano as a DM

2) Sosa must start somewhere

No fecking Insua either Mad

Sabella is an idiot, instead of picking worthy players he uses the most sacred coaching job in Argentina to help his estudiantes favorites.

Given the quality of forwards and the quality of midfielders available it's understandable.

Some positive steps in that list. Matias + Biglia

But yeah, some of the players living off the Estudiantes connection are starting to really get on my nerves Mad

I don't know for certain, but he's probably injured yet again.

Also, he doesn't play in a system with AMs (given the 4-4-2) so Pastore's place would be behind Messi, Kun and Lavezzi as an SS.

Just purchased 2 tickets for the game against Ecuador, they were a bit pricey, so Messi better do his magic on that game :coffee:

Seats are okay, given that I didn't want to pay 100 for them. So I purchased the ones going for $45 US. All the way up, but at the very front of them.
