Re: La Selección Argentina
I didn't know where to put it so I will post it here.
Sabella analysing Barca, explaining players tactics before 2009 FIFA CWC Final. I think it's worthy of watching.
After posting it I realised that Alfred posted it yesterday
I used search and find Argentina thread and I posted it here without checking who posted before me.

Re: La Selección Argentina
Great video guys, thanks for sharing it, nice to look back on and know Sabella's gameplan, he's a smart guy, I respect him alot more than our last coach (aside from the Sosa call ups
). It would have really been something if he had won that CWC.

I'm waiting for someone to add subtitles to that video. I would but I don't have enough time on my hands.

Argentina coach Sabella: Perhaps Real Madrid will regret letting Garay leave
The 57-year-old coach was full of praise for the in-form defender and stated that Los Blancos may realise that they were wrong to sell the player
The 25-year-old centre-back signed for Benfica in the summer in a €5.5 million deal after becoming frustrated at his lack of playing opportunities at the Santiago Bernabeu.
He has become an integral piece of Jorge Jesus' squad, helping the club overcome the loss of David Luiz to Chelsea in January 2011.
"I do not know [if Madrid regret losing him], but he is doing very well in Portugal," Sabella told Marca.
"They call him Benfica's 'defensive wall', together with Luisao. But it is not the same thing as playing in Spain, the playing styles are different.
"Time will tell if Madrid made a mistake or not."

Re: La Selección Argentina
Don't regret anything... We've Ramos in his spot instead, and backups are Varane, Carvalho and Albiol.
Why would we need him when he isn't available due to injury most of the time?
Great player, shouldn't even be backup, but way too injury prone.

Re: La Selección Argentina
Carvalho has been subpar and Albilol is Albilol. I could see him making a spot for himself, even if not a regular one, if he weren't so injury prone.

I still wouldn't want Garay back
Varane was an awesome pickup and is twice the player Garay ever was for us

Re: La Selección Argentina
I don't think Real Madrid ever regrets selling players regardless if they are now in good form. Anyway, good for Garay. He was always a talented defender for Racing and just had that unlucky injury streak going on at Real and never really developed properly.

Insua needs to go in, BTW. He should be given a chance since Clement isn't exactly young, plus he's decent enough.

Before Insua, I would try Ansaldi since he has never been tried for real before. Insua had some time(but very little). I would call up both of them for that position. Ansaldi can play at right back as well so its great.

Re: La Selección Argentina
Sergio Aguero's brother & Martin Palermo's son called up to Argentina Under-17s
Their relatives appeared together in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and now the young pair have another chance to shine in Walter Perazzo's youth squad
The new group of youngsters who will make up the Argentina Under-17 squad for 2012 contains several very familiar names, as the brother of Manchester City's Sergio Aguero are included along with the son of legendary Boca Juniors marksman Martin Palermo.
U17 coach Walter Perazzo released his shortlist of teenage talent on Monday morning via the Argentina Football Association (ASA) website, and amongst the 32 names given to the public two in particular stood out. Mauricio del Castillo, who plays in the Independiente youth system, is Kun's brother and receives his first call up at this level.
The youngster has been with the Rojo, with whom Aguero made his debut at 15 before moving to Atletico Madrid, since 2008, and has already been capped at U15 level.
Ryduan Palermo, whose father appeared for the senior national team 15 times and scored nine goals, plays in the same centre-forward position as 'El Titan'. The youngster lifted the Octava youth title in 2011 with Estudiantes, and is currently top scorer in the more advanced Septima division.
Boca Juniors and River Plate boast the highest representation in the shortlist, each contributing five players. Velez Sarsfield and Independiente, meanwhile, both have four in Perazzo's squad
Convocados. Los citados para este lunes y hasta el miércoles incluido son: Matías Zorrilla (Argentinos Juniors); Germán Niz y Fernando Benvenutti (Arsenal F.C.); Nicolás Pinto, Leonardo Suarez, Lautaro Viscardi, Iván Lecszuck y Matías Romero (Boca Juniors); Leandro Vega, Augusto Batalla, Dante Morán Correa, Emanuel Mammana y Sebastián Driussi (River Plate); Jonathan Cañete, Mauricio Del Castillo, Fabricio Bustos y Rodrigo Mareyra (Independiente); Germán Ferreyra, Nicolás Tripicchio, Marcelo Storm y Lucio Compagnucci (Vélez Sarsfield); Joaquín Ibañez, Matías Billordo y Ulises Arias (Lanús); Facundo Castro (Racing Club); Matías Sánchez (Chacarita Juniors); Mauro Marconato e Ignacio Chicco (Colón de Santa Fe); Ignacio Mosescu y Ryduan Palermo (Estudiantes de La Plata); Axel Werner (A.M.S.Atlético de Rafaela); Leonardo Marchi (Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata); Gabriel Pedrazza (Rosario Central) y Germán Gabriel Cochis (Belgrano de Córdoba).

Re: La Selección Argentina
What do you all think of Racings captain, Claudio Yacob? I think he should be called up to atleast experiment, he could be a good player to replace Mascherano as he drops to the defense (if he ever does). We've already tried Braña, why not give Yacob another shot, it's been almost a year since Pep Batista called him last. I think he could do a good job of protecting the back 4 and bringing the ball out of defense safely, he showed he could do this with the NT when he was last called.
Belluschi is another player I think we should give a shot.

We haven't given him a try at LB in a long while, if Sosa can play, I don't know why Insua can't..
