I still remember the articles back in '09. They were asking Xavi or Messi? to describe other people in the dressing room.

Alves was described as "The only person who looks forward to extra time"

I hope he brings in some grit & winners mentality.

I dont know how Alves has been since he left Juventus but at Juve he was one of a kind. Such a big game performer and just never did anything particularly wrong even if his pace has been lost quite a while ago.

Then again his pace was never something he quite relied upon.

Not really what Barça need in such a time but with time I am sure he has become a leader and maybe can inspire something in what is quite an uninspiring squad and is of the old guard.

Pique for the most part rode off the tails of the best of Barça and doesnt have an ounce of leadership in him.

Just wanna say thank u to Dani Alves, absolute legend. Great to have him for us last season. I really though the way he made his way into the team n performed, better than our other RBs, at 38 ffs, we would have given him at least one more season, I guess we couldnt afford him... ffs. The club should apologies to him for a second time, last time we sold him also without him wanting to go cos we didnt pay him enough...

Oh well, wish him the best n always great to see him, what personality n professional~
