Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Only problem with it is, Xavi generally comes off/is rested before Iniesta.
For me, thats fine, Thiago plays, like he should.
But are they going to do that? Put Thiago on before Cesc everytime Xavi doesnt play or comes off?
I would, I dont think they will.
I wouldnt want Iniesta deep either tbh.

Fabregas is injuried for 10 days. Will miss out on Tito vs Pep charity match as well as a few training matches with the Spanish squad heading into Euro!

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
It is simple. Arsenal are much more direct and faster with the way they play. He lacked having players running behind the space for his through balls to work.alexjanosik wrote:He was that damn good at Arsenal at passing(especially final passing) and vision.
But surprisingly he hasnt shown us the passing ability or the vision.Maybe its playing with new team-mates and a new system but for his standard passing has been below par.I certainly expect him to improve in that regard next season.
Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Didnt stop other players making passes, bit of a excuse that sounds like to me.
His passing has been below par, sloppy and at times dare I say lazy.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
He was like that in Arsenal too. Wilshere and Ramsey (and now Arteta) all had better passing success rates. I was merely suggesting to Alex that his final balls were poor because of the difference in the styles of the two teams.
Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
He has one position and no possible, feasible or sensible variation of your lineup offers it.
So he would need to do some major adapting.
Or he can be a super-sub.

To an extent yes but still expected much better passing from him as he is an elite passer. When I say better passing I mean both general passing and final passing. For his level he has been below par in both.To an extent that could be due to the fact that playing for us he has much less time on the ball and there is less space around.

He will have to adapt. 40m for a supersub. No, there is more to it. Just needs time and well i was hoping that if Euro wan't on, that Tito can put some work in him to improve him for next season...

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Undisclosed fee, so it is hard to say.
I personally think Barcelona did pay more than the figure announced by Rosell. Same as the Sánchez transfer, where Barcelona paid €43m for him according to Udinese's Quique Pina while Barcelona website said it cost them an initial €26m plus €11.5m in bonuses.
I think they want to look poor so teams don't ask for too much money. You know whenever a player gets linked with a big club the price suddenly rockets into galaxies. I believe Barcelona's announced €40 million per year transfer budget is also a hoax for the same reason.
All the reports (including the BBC) were told that Arsenal had agreed a £35m fee for Cesc Fàbregas plus another £5m in add-ons, but the Barcelona president Sandro Rosell said they paid €29 million for Fàbregas, not 40, plus a variable amount consisting of €5m [£4.3m] and another €5m.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Meh, possibly but I don't know. I also read not winning the PD and CL saved us around 10 million in variables (Cesc and Alexis). Got it from a Dutch site though and if memory serves me right it mentioned as a source 'several Spanish newspapers'. So I don't have any direct source. I'd really like to prefer this story.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Barcelona really didnt need cesc.. they couldve used the money on someone more useful like aguero. But now hes here, and admittingly he does have good stats. When hes played as a false nine for me hes played really good.
But messi plays there for the most part.. dilema

After havinga good tournament, i expect better things from the guy! Hope he does well in his second season and Tito uses him in the right position without shifting Iniesta to a 'weaker' position...

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has admitted that his performance levels suffered in the second half of last season, but is looking forward to the start of the new campaign.
The former Arsenal man began his Camp Nou career in irresistible form, scoring a flurry of goals in the months proceeding his big-money move from North London.
But that form ground to a halt after Christmas, before Fabregas returned to his scintillating best as Spain won Euro 2012, and he is now excited about the challenge ahead under new coach Tito Vilanova.
"It was a mental block," he told the club's official website. "Tito has made it clear that I need to play the way I know. I have to be mobile and look for space, help my team-mates by playing the easy ball.
"I've noticed the difference in the first few games of pre-season - how rather than staying static on the inside left, I have to be more mobile.
"These three weeks of pre-season help to make us stronger and we need to fuel ourselves in order to perform better during the season. A good pre-season builds fitness to see you through until the end."
Fabregas went on to say that Vilanova is more vocal than many would believe, and that he offers his squad a lot of help.
"Tito is a coach with a lot of personality, more than people think. He'll have a lot to offer and we have to help him. He'll help because he knows so much about football.
"We will help by making sacrifices and by having the right attitude. If we help each other, we'll have a great year."
Barcelona get back to competitive action on August 18, when they host Real Sociedad on the first day of the new Liga season.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Tito cannot find a place for Fàbregas
Vilanova has encountered a problem which he must nip in the bud before it gets any bigger. Cesc Fàbregas's performances in the first two league matches have been well down on what the fans expect of him.
Against Real Sociedad he played instead of Iniesta, and on Sunday he started out in the position usually occupied by Xavi. On both occasions, Fàbregas hardly figured. His ideal position is a type of 'false number nine', but here he is up against the untouchable Leo Messi. Tito has tried to find a place for him in midfield, being aware that Iniesta, and above all Xavi, are going to need to rest, but there, Cesc is a long way away from the area.
Last season proved that he does not perform well in this position. The ex-Arsenal player feels more comfortable playing closer to Messi, as he did in his first months at Barcelona. But Vilanova is oversubscribed in attacking positions, and if Cesc plays further forward, many [more legitimate] forwards will remain on the bench.
And if he plays in midfield his performance trails off considerably The biggest problem Cesc is facing is the lack of goals. If his performance does not improve in that department, he will find it increasingly difficult to play as an attacker.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Marca is so inconsistent. "Cesc cannot play as a CM" and "Cesc's biggest problems is the lack of goals" somehow makes it way to the same argument. Typical tabloid sh*t. It makes no sense.
That being said he does not have a place in the squad.

Fabregas hasn't started off the season well though he will improve. He knows that if he can't perform well then he will be on the bench therefore his performances will improve.

Re: Cesc Fabregas - The Lost Lamb
Extremely unfortunate comments from Cesc.
Coming up with the excuse that sub appearances are the reason for his poor performances.NVM the fact that he made 49 appearances last season and was garbage in a majority of them.NVM the fact that he has been useless in every game he has started this season.
He needs to accept the fact that he has been garbage and thats only down to him.Stop taking shots at Pep.Stop blaming sub appearances.
Once he accepts that,he needs to work hard to improve.Else he can get out.
