Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
1 - Its 60 Million Euros not Pounds. Everywhere Euros work,Pound only works in England.
2 - No chance of Sahin,he has said Madrid was his boyhood dream & he wants to stay. Madrid want him to stay too. And he will not be a Starter here whereas he is guaranteed to start at Dortmund or Milan.
3 - Martinez is 23M,that is huge. And Nerlinger was in Madrid to apparently watch Barca vs Bilbao. Madrid is Spain's capital so its natural he will stay in madrid and not elsewhere.
4 - Howedes is not coming. Schalke said he is not for sale. His contract gets over in 2014,so maybe next year he can come & bench Boateng.

Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
If Howedes come, I suspect he'll play as a fullback or Rotate with Boateng. Benching Boateng wouldn't make much sense, he's the fastest, most Versatile and can use both feet, if anything he needs to play often so he can improve his game.
Naturally Boateng is our most gifted CB, and he has done very well since he came, he adjusted very well with the first team although he was moved around by the manager.
Also Unlike Rafinha and Neuer, he has made fewer mistakes leading to goals.

Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
We have 2 Excellent FB's in Alaba Lahm & Contento as LB Back-up. Lahm will play every match.
Howedes wont come this year,if he comes it will be next year & to take Boateng's place because Boa needs to warm the bench to gather some intelligence required to play football & be less sloppy/rash.

LOL!
Dunno, haven't heard anything about this. But the idea is fun.
Ah. Looks like the spray attack was actually genuine:
http://www.abendzeitung-muenchen.de/inhalt.dortmund-logo-in-vip-loge-video-bvb-attacke-auf-die-allianz-arena.0c386810-7915-4a9a-9fd1-69a6c0533360.html
BTW, according to the news article, the guys who sneaked in did clean up the sprayed logo after they filmed their action as they didn't want to leave a mess. Moreover, the spot was actually filmed to promote an easy-to-clean spray paint ("Sprühkreide").

Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
Just thought i'd post this little tidbit of info.
Back in June i was in Munich for vacation, i visited the Allianz Arena and took a tour of the place (still remember the treacherous Mario 64-esque stairs ). When i came to the end of the tour, the guide showed us like this long road from the exit of the Allianz to the metro station (800m approx iirc) she told us that Bayern fans tend to get angry after losing a game or drawing and as such, they developed this road to help calm their mind. Essentialy "walk off the pain" i was so bewildered about this that i couldn't stop thinking. Just imagining the scenes of BM fans in the CL final walking angrily towards their homes got me thinking, then my bro said "I think they needed more than 800m to walk after that loss" after which i couldn't stop laughing. Don't get me wrong im not dissing Bayern or anything, just wanted to share this little story
On another note Munich is a beutiful city, best town i've been to throughout Europe. If i could've i would've spent the entire summer there.

Maybe they turned around and walked the 800m back and forward again?

Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
Any bars on that 800m of road?
That's probably the best method of venting there is.

No bars but there are these sort of "wagons" that sell food and beverages (alcohol included)

Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
I live here in Munich and was about ~15 times in the AArena, but i never heard the story that this road is there to calm the mind. I mean , its a straight way to reach the subway station , how else should you come to the stadium?
Imo it was just a made up story by your tour guide to tell you something, i guess she didn't know what to say.
Here you can see a part of it, it's a simple path , subway station <-> arena.

This section should be revived like the Manu section which lately has seen a lot of activity.
There is already a good core out there..Messiah,Sushi Master,Ioilersrock,La Bestia Negra,Phritz,MotoGp,Viva and rwo ofcourse.Someone should take the initiative of posting here regularly and it will automatically become an active place and possibly attract new fans too.

Well. ManUtd has the advantage that they are playing through the Winter, while in Germany we have our infamous Winter Break. BTW, Bayern will play a test match against FC Basel on Saturday 12 Jan 2013, 16:30 GMT+1.
I hope it will be broadcast, as I'd love to see two of my favourite GKs in action!

Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
The road is there to dilute the amount of people arriving at the Fröttmaning subway station - it's purely logistical and has nothing to do with letting fans cool off lol. It's longer than shown in the pic above; it only shows the section above the parking garages. As for popularity of the Bayern section it'll be hard - Bayernzone and Reddit are the go to places for English discussion of Bayern/German football :S

Frankly, I took a peek into Bayernzone some time ago and I wasn't too impressed. I'd rather like to see this board here prosper and grow.

eh, it wont grow very fast until the Buli is marketed overseas tbh - I'm pretty sure I'm the only actual club-mitglied here and even then my loyalties divided.

Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
Well I grew up with my best friend being a Bayern fan and my father figure, naturally was an 1860 supporter as he was part of the SPD. He was the most influential person in my life but I also played in Bayerns C-Jugend so they all cancelled out and I'm pragmatic by nature so I'm like a neutral of Munich. It helped that the derby's back then were awesome and both clubs played in the BuLi.

Re: Bayern Munich - Chit Chat
Well, I can understand liking two diametrical opposed sides, too. Being from the Ruhr Area, one normally should be either for Dortmund or for Schalke, and you know that rivalry, too. Unfortunately I could never find a reason to hate either of them, and so I actually like both (aside from my hometown affiliation to RWO, of course).

Today Sport1 broadcasts the test match Unterhaching vs Bayern München. The match starts right now, and you can see Tobias Schweinsteiger vs Bastian Schweinsteiger for the very first time!
I'm sure streams should be available as Sport1 is a free TV broadcasting station.
