General BVB Chit Chat
Currently leading the BL by 2 points, Kloppo again tells everybody not to mention the evil M-word (M for "Meister", meaning "Champion") as he considers Bayern the real BL champion aspirants.
Asked about the DFB Pokal today (Dortmund have to play against Greuther Fürth in the Trolli-Arena in Fürth and Bayern pay another visit to Borussia M'gladbach), his comment was along the lines of: "Very nice draw - each of the four teams can win the cup, of course."
Kloppo = master of understatement XD
My guess atm is for a "Borussen-Derby" in the Olympiastadion in Berlin, though.
Shinji Kagawa stated in a ZDF interview on Saturday that he would like to extend his contract in Dortmund which currently ends in 2013. As Dortmund very likely would love to keep the Japanese playmaker, too, they are expected to start contract talks within the next days.

Wow Dortmund have some serious problems.
First Goetze ,now Kagawa ruled out for three weeks.

The ridiculous thing is that, even without Götze and Kagawa, they'll probably do fine with Leitner and Perisic. They can also always just let Lewandowski play SS from deep and put Barrios up front.

Yeah. For such things it is to hope that they can convince Barrios to stay after all.

Well if Barrios leaves they'll probably sign someone else for depth. AFAIK Dortmund are doing reasonably well financially these days and might even have some dough left after signing Reus.

2 consecutive years qualifying for the CL should do wonders for their economy. They only made the group stages, but still...
Kagawa out doesn't mean they'll lose momentum, I agree with that. Plus, Götze will be coming back soon and you won't even feel the difference.

Re: General BVB Chit Chat
So one of Dortmund's star youngsters, Terrence Boyd, has been called up by Klinsmann for our friendly with Italy.
No one's heard of this kid. Heard he's been turning heads for Dortmund's U-23 team.
Is the call up justified, BL fans?

Sorry, Terrence Boyd flew completely under my radar, too (he was no German NT U17/19/21 player and then he's no GK XD).

Klopp said during the press conference yesterday he assumes that the contract extension talks with Kagawa will have a positive outcome. This and Götze's new contract were the best news I heard for a while.

Several sources suggest that Borussia Dortmund are after Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko.
I think he would be great for Dortmund.

From what I understood, ManCity are interested in Lewandowski, and thus there are rumours about a possible swap Lewandowski <> Dzeko. I'm not sure what I shall think about such a deal - I have the feeling it wouldn't really work out as Dzeko very likely will ask too much money for Dortmund's willingness/ability to pay.

Re: General BVB Chit Chat
Džeko earns at Manchester City something like £150k+ per week, I doubt he would take a pay-cut to join Dortmund when he's pretty much a starter at Manchester City aswell. Although Džeko would be a pretty good upgrade on Lewandowski.
I see this happening just incase both Barrios and Lewandowski get sold. To sum it all, I don't actually believe this as apparently this all started from Dailymail which I just don't trust.
On the other hand there are reports that Dortmund is offering Kagawa a new extended contract with a pay raise which expires in 2016.

Well, I think Dortmund is wise to give young and strong players like Götze, Kagawa, and Reus a good contract. I somehow doubt that Dzeko would fit in there, though.

Re: General BVB Chit Chat
As for our match tomorrow according to Klopp, Bender ist more 90% than 100% likely to play and will most probably be rotated with captain Kehl.
Probable line-up:

Re: General BVB Chit Chat
I had all night to think about the game.
It was a sensational game.
The situation reminds me a bit the game against the Blues in the last season. There we got a draw despite the oppressive superiority only what was on Friday evening, a perceived defeat. At the end of the match our winning margin had grown to a point. My hope rests therefore on the club (where I fear to be honest, that can be taken apart).
The game itself has condemned me to remind our performances in the CL. Incredibly good game, but the defensive behavior of the goals conceded, with a completely unfamiliar errors and unfamiliar opponents in these situations effectively.
I find particularly significant Hummels's perfomance - 90% successful tackles, 1 assist, 1 goal. Outstanding values, but for three situations in which he looks a bit unhappy (in a longer, slightly less in the other), and they all lead to opposite results.
Whether a point gained or two dropped points at the end it doesn't matter.
That being said, having "worst" case for this matchday a three-point lead and home court advantage against Bayern is not that bad. And I'm firmly convinced that we will not lose this game.

Re: General BVB Chit Chat
Well, I can say for sure that Dortmund didn't disappoint - it was a highly entertaining match, and Stuttgart has never been an easy opponent for Dortmund (in the last 9 home matches Dortmund only won 2, lost 3 and drew 4).
Moreover, now the fight for the salad dish has become even more interesting as both Dortmund and Bayern now can win it by their own efforts - if they actually win all of their other matches, it will go down to the showdown between the two.
As for Hummels - he suffered the problem that all defenders (and GKs) suffer - you can play an outstanding match all in all - one or two mistakes, and the opponents score and you are the "Depp".

Re: General BVB Chit Chat
Jurgen Klopp is set to make one change from the team that drew 4-4 with Stuttgart last Friday. After another good performance, Gundi should retain his place in midfield ahead of Kehl, who will make way Bender, who is back to full fitness.
Meanwhile, Götze is expected to make his long-awaited comeback for the club's reserve ranks, and will accordingly miss this game. Defensive duo Koch and Santana remain sidelined.
Some facts:
Wolfsburg has won all of its last four league games and is the most onform team scoring 12 goals in the process.
However, Felix Magath's side has kept just six clean sheets in its 28 Bundesliga matches this season.
Patrick Helmes has scored six goals in his last six games.
Borussia Dortmund is currently in the midst of a 22-game unbeaten run in the league - the longest in the club's history.
Shinji Kagawa has scored nine goals in his last 11 matches.
Jurgen Klopp's side picked up a 5-1 victory over Wolfsburg on Matchday 12.
Even though I would like Perisic instead of Grosskreutz till he finds his old form, but we all know Klopp's bromance with him so I expect him to start again

Re: General BVB Chit Chat
As of today, Borussia Dortmund is German Champion 2012. This also means that they got 8 German championships altogether, thus now overtaking Schalke 04 who only achieved 7 German Championships, which will be probably even sweeter for Dortmund.
Congratulations!
Congratulations!

Congrats Kagawa and Co.
To beat Bayern 2 years in a row takes some doing!
If there was any manager I want to Chelsea it would be Klopp, he has done a fantastic job.

Congrats for the double win! Great match yesterday. Seeing Mitch Langerak play in an important match was fun, even though he had one howler that fortunately didn't lead to a goal. I hope Roman Weidenfeller will be fine ASAP so that he can properly join the celebrations.
Now Dortmund just need to play as well in the CL next season. ^^

Re: General BVB Chit Chat
Now that the transfer window is open, Marco Reus is officially a Dortmund player. Also arriving at the club is 18 year old German midfielder Leonardo Bittencourt from Energie Cottbus. Bitterncourt was also signed during the winter transfer window. He's set to join after a stellar campaign in which he played a pivotal role in helping Cottbus avoid relegation to the third tier of German football. Daniel Ginczek is another player joining the German champions this summer, returning from his loan spell at Bochum where he managed to net 5 goals .
Leaving the club are veterans Antonio da Silva and Florian Kringe, both of whose contracts ran out. Young right back Julian Koch will rejoin MSV Duisburg on a season loan deal for a second spell. But the biggest departure is of course Lucas Barrios, who was sold to Chinese giants Guangzhou Evergrande for €8.5m.

I was always pretty sure that Hummels would stay. Frankly, I'm always a bit puzzled when (mainly) fans of certain clubs in the EPL think they only need to click their fingers and every player they fancy would transfer to their clubs. ^^
