What's going on with Pique?

To the barca fans on the forum, a story that has gone unnoticed, was Pep leaving Pique in the stands in CL.
he says he did it for rotation, but from the bit i have seen in the spanish press, Pep was very upset with Pique, and so was Pique for being left out.
so what's the story?

Who knows. He seemed to say he wanted to rest him on the weekend but had no choice but to play him.
So, I dont know lol
He has been suspect in recent games, but still better than Puyol so it cant be just performance.
He also said Pique is untouchable, so I barely took any notice of it.

I agree Pique hasn't been near his best this season. I don't think there is a rift between Pep and Pique, although it is a good theory since Pique didn't start vs Osasuna either.

He did start vs Osasuna, he came off after 70. Which I thought was a mistake, seeing as he at least had some size to throw around in the box and we have seen he has an eye for a backheal asisst.

Oh, I think this explains it btw.
"Mascherano is suspended for the game against Valencia on Sunday, so I couldn't afford to lose Gerard.
If Pique got injured in Germany we would of been deep in the crapper vs Valencia.

Why would Pique get injured tho ?
Pep said not playing him against Bayer was because of tactical decision, i believe he's just not satisfied with his recent form.
He also gifted Real Madrid a goal with his horrible passing in Copa's second leg.

well, the rumor is that Pique has been very distracted this season.
rumor of a little porno video he turned with miss waka waka, getting in traffic accident in barcelona...
lots of stories coming out about Pep getting more and more nervous in barcelona. Sport.es reported that he forbid Alves to attend some promotional events couple of weeks back.

You have not seen all the injures we had? He also had a knee problem a few weeks ago, so dont know how that is right now.
Pep said it was a "technical" not tactical.

He is very overrated. Without Puyol near him he is nothing more than average. I agree that this season isn't his best.

Nonesense. He needs Puyol, but everytime he plays with Mascherano he has had not only better performances but been fantastic.
When Puyol was injured and it was just Pique and Mascherano, both were great and the partnership worked very well.
Best centerback in Spain talentwise.

He is a good defender but his concentration issues are obvious. Also this season hasn't looked like himself but we all know when Gerard plays good there is none better.

Laughable, playing a deep defence I would have Vidic over Pique everyday, and Silva is a better defender. Being a ball failing defender means sod all if your gonna flop against osasuna and be at fault for all the 3 goals, worst cb performance I have seen in my lifetime...

I've never rated Pique within the top 5 CBs in the world. Even after all his success at Barca, the guy is still quite clumsy and struggles to deal with tricky players. A rich man's Albiol, if you will.
Just take a look at his performance in the last Clasico, Pique looked like a borderline retard against Ronaldo and became especially shaky when Madrid switched to 4-4-2 with Benzema and Ronaldo up front.
He's good in the air and 2v1ing strikers in the 4-2-3-1 with Puyol/Mascherano by his side, nothing else.
