Crazy how overrated he got as a defender for scoring goals when he's always been questionable at the back. Even just watch the way he drops off when the team is in possession, Pique drops deep while Ramos pulls deep and wide leaving them wide open for the counter.

I liked Ramos better at RB honestly. He's not the sharpest Defender around that's for sure. Just physical prowess mixed with some ball-playing ability. He's ideal to have on a 3 CB system as a RCB.

WC tho. Currently Spain's best Defender.

He deceived me. Not that I ever rated him, I wasn't asleep in the 5 gazillion Clasicos where he helped Barca to victory alongside Casillas. But I thought he was at least athletic. DAT footrace against Robben DOE. :facepalm:

Ramos is a beast physically with the ability to play the ball (long or short). As a reader of the game, one who anticipates moves of the opponent or organises the backline, he is as good as an average defender and nothing more.

It doesn't matter if he flops more during this world cup or wins Madrid more farcimas, to me he is that and he will always be.

How shameful. This guy when he retires is going to go down as one of the best La Liga defenders ever by the mindless masses.

But in reality, he is closer to Pavon than Heirro, Heirro was a real defender, an elite..this guy just pretends to be.

At least he will stay in Madrid for many years, gifting spaces and chances like no tomorrow for Barcelona.
