Bilbao played well, but defended poorly. I was surprised to see them so deep, and their usual pressing wasnt as present, i mean, i have seen them pressing a lot more.

Another match in which Bielsa insisted playing the 3-5-2 which clearly hasn't worked for the multiple games he tried to implement it.

Its quite obvious he found a system that works very very well for Bilbao (4222&4231) but insists on playing the 3 man and stifled 5 man mid with no DM.

This was a project similar to Roma with patient expectations and meant for long term, but if he needs to stop being stubborn and stick to one system as otherwise top 4 will look bleak despite the project expectations.

It was another case of how when Bilbao misses glorious chances in the first half and rues them at the end of the game.

From now on Bielsa must play the 2 given formations with at least one DM where they press FAR FAR more and give Lllorente back the free deep role and Muniain an SS role instead of wide.

Javi Martinez (!!!!!!) was great defensively btw.

I think he played as a CB and he is a great prospect for Spain. Possible future Busquets/Alonso replacement.

Athletic was honestly rather good. I actually would hope neither Real nor Barca touch a single player on that team, they are really something to take in.

But, like teams that aren't Barcelona, Real Madrid seems to find away to beat them. I, for one, underrated Athletic and would probably do it again but I did not doubt Real would draw or lose this one and I've been proven correct.

Yeah they played well, they missed a couple of great chances as well.

Anyway I hope we beat them at San Mames too and maybe this Bielsa wankfest will die peacefully.

(Although I think Bielsa is good he's just been getting too much hype lately lol)
