Maybe it's because FIFA are just looking for the 4 best defenders, not specifincally 2 CBs and 2 FBs? That's what I think.

Maybe there should be a formation of the year. I hate how everything is shoehorned into a 4-4-2.

I'm serious. Müller smoked Rooney in terms of performances as of late, Lahm sh*ts all over Alves and Schweinsteiger certainly had a better past two seasons than Alonso (not that Xabi was bad). I'm not saying all of them should've made it, but one of them, plus one of Neuer or Özil kinda deserves a spot in the world XI these days.
