Re: The Movie House
Gone in 60 seconds was Cage's last decent movie for me.
Finally got around to watching Inception. My brain was complete mush by the time I finished watching that flick. Quality stuff though from Chris Nolan once again.

Oh my god, you've just watched Inception? Where have you been?
On the subject of brain teasers, I recommend The Machinist, Memento (also by Nolan), Donnie Darko and Shutter Island.
If you really want f-ed up, try some David Lynch movies. They are literally on another level of weirdness, but I can guarentee you they'll leave you mindfucked.

Has anyone watched that movie "Skyline"?
I've reading through critics and youtube comments about it.
Seems pretty awful lmao.
But i'm curious since i've always like the End of the world/Death of masses types of movies.

Memento is a great movie, as is Donnie Darko. I haven't seen Shutter Island but have been meaning to check it out. It's directed by Scorsese right?

Great film with great performances all around. I personally don't think Nicholas Cage is a horrible actor. Well lately yes but that's also because his roles have been terrible and I'm sure he just doesn't take them seriously.

I watched A Serbian Film 2 days ago. Awful movie that exploited violence and filth.
Effed up film.
- Spoiler:
- The scene where the dude was banging the chick and then chops her head off yet still continues to f*** her was disgusting.
Effed up film.

Nah. I think Matchstick Men was a phenomenal movie, also Bangkok Dangerous and Kick Ass were great. The thing with him is that I read he got himself into financial problems in the last 2 years- which explains why he is taking each and every single role he can get, no matter how awful they are.
Inception was OK imo. Very overrated though.

Looks like it has potential. Brad Pitt, Sean Penn, directed by Terrence Malick(I usually find his movies boring besides Thin Red Line). But it won best movie at Cannes Film Festival, I wanna check it out.
Anyone who thinks that Brad Pitt is a poor actor should watch that movie. It's one of his best, in my opinion.

Yeah, it was quite good. Yuri Orlov really is a classic" Nick Cage" character. Pretty bad ass guy.

Agree on Matchstick Men and Kick ass, but Cage was upstaged by the kids in both movies imo...he added experience and know-how, but wasn't the show stealer in either. Bangkok Dangerous...I haven't seen that yet.
The further down the rabbit hole Inception went, the more climactic it got. It was very "Shutter Island" at times, especially that open-ended, ambiguous ending.

I still haven't seen this, and I really want to. It's getting called a borderline masterpiece by some, but I've also read where people thought it was boring at times(that's Malick's style though really, visuals over dialogue). It's got an 86% on rottentomatoes though, so I tend to believe it's closer to the former than the latter.

Oh yeah, totally with u on the Inception part. To really enjoy that film, one will need full concentration, or they will get their brains all moddled up.
But I usually drifted off somewhere when I was watching it. Shutter Island on the other hand is a very good film.

Arlington Road. Absolutely brilliant film with one of the best endings I've ever seen.

Transformers 3 was banned here because of "anti-government" themes. I have no frakking clue what that means, but are the Decepticons secret socialist spies or something?

after watching transformers, and having my eyes hurting from all that 3D stuff, i realize just how important it was for my brain to be stimulated when watching a movie.
