Don't think he ever said "It's important to score useless goals" or anything along the lines of "every goal matters " to be honest.

He shows it on the pitch but in terms of contradicting himself....nah.The truth has just been forced onto him by the reality of the situation, I think it's actually helped him as a player.

Trying to be the best individually is the thing that drives most great athletes.Basically the difference is that most of the great ones realize that they can only be the best by helping their team.
