Jose Pekerman agrees deal to coach Colombia
Jose Pekerman will shortly be presented as the new man in charge of the Colombia national team after both his agent and the head of the Colombian Football Federation (FCF) revealed that a deal had been struck.
The former Argentina coach had been in Miami negotiating with FCF president Luis Bedoya, following the dismissal of Leonel Alvarez after just three official games at the helm of the
And according to Pekerman's representative Pascual Lescano, everything had been arranged to make Jose the third coach of the side in the last six months.
"It is already agreed. We only have to iron out a few details but Jose will be back in coaching. It will be until the end of the Brazil World Cup [in 2014]," Lescano affirmed in declarations reported by Minuto Uno.
Bedoya, meanwhile, released an official statement on the FCF website also confirming the accord, stating that "the contract will be signed in the next few days".
Pekerman, who has been out of football since leaving Tigres in 2009, is best known for taking Argentina to the World Cup in 2006, reaching the quarter-finals before they went out on penalties to hosts Germany.

Didn't think Alvarez was that bad...
Haven't seen Pekerman since 2006, and his rep from there wasn't good at all.
