Wilshire so far, I actually think this debate will rage on for a long time.

Wilshere has a whole PL and CL season under his belt. Definitely proven at the top level. Thiago has huge potential and is currently ripping it everywhere, will be just as proven as Wilshere once the season ends, IMO.

I will sayt that if Barca wanted a midfielder, they should have gotten Wilshere instead of Fabregas

I cant really choose.

Firstly proven dont mean squat, im not giving Whilshere extra credit because Thiago cant play ahead of Xavi and Iniesta.

But in terms of quality, potential and all that, I cant really choose.

Its tricky rating such young players now, so much ahead of them. I dont think anyone at Barca would swap Thiago and I dont think any at Arsenal would swap Jack.

I wouldnt be shocked if in 5 years if these two are as good as anyone out there in their position.

I know it doesn't really mean squad. Just stating it because some people write off youngsters due to them not playing in top leagues, teams or whatever. Thiago will be just as proven at season's end, as I said.

Hmm tbh i find thiago a little overrated personally. I dont think playing comes as naturally to him as it does wilshere, the difference is when wilshere is put under pressure he excells, in thiagos case i recall his game against real madrid when he was pressed a lot and often gave the ball away and looked a bit lost. Wilshere reminds me more of xavi/iniesta than thiago does. Thiago is a bit more of a show pony

I see Thiago more like Iniesta, versatile in midfield but not a master in a particular position.

Wilshere has been one of the best deep lying playmakers and provided one of the best performances ever in highest level.

I see what you mean, but I disagree. First of all, if you're judging Thiago based on that Madrid match then you are doing something wrong. Madrid had an intense pre-season, their players were fit for the Copa match while Barcelona had 7 of their players arriving a day before the match. Also Thiago's experience in the first team was limited back then and playing at Bernabeu against perhaps one of the top two best teams in the world is not easy.

This is not to say Thiago is a better player than Wilshere. They might both be midfielders but at the same time are quite different players. Wilshere is a more box-to-box player with good composure, passing, lobbed balls, tackling and bringing the ball out of defence but I would not call him a true playmaker. Thiago plays in a more advanced role where composure is not as important as his creativity. His eyes for a pass, his dribbling and ability to take on defenders as well as his trickery makes him one of the best creative young midfielders in the world right now. He is also a good header of the ball given his height.
