That's the ironic part in all of this. The pair of players they should have been working on loans for are now gonna be forced to go to teams below their level while they were busy brokering a loan for a player who never should have been leaving in the first place.

If only club hierarchs were as interested in looking after the futures of the club's homegrown, English youth as they are in stockpiling foreign ones, maybe it wouldn't be over 10 years since we last saw a homegrown lad come through the youth system into the first team.

That's a tough one. He's familiar with Watford and of course the Zola connection makes them an obvious favourite, but Owen Coyle has a history of developing young players, namely English ones, and could be really good for him.

Nathaniel Chalobah's Watford loan hits sticking point as Chelsea demand more cash:
Chalobah wants to go back to Gianfranco Zola’s club for a second season on loan after turning down approaches from Nottingham Forest and Wigan, but the Stamford Bridge outfit are digging in their heels as Watford want to contribute less towards his wages than they did last year.
