Nathaniel Chalobah
Pretty much every Chelsea fan has heard about this amazing just-turned 17 year old. He's the current captain of the Reserves and has also led the Youths if I'm not mistaken. He's definitely the most prized asset of an already talented academy and it seems like a forgone conclusion that he'll definitely make the first team with the displays he keeps putting it.
It seems that most people see him as a future CB, however, he can also play in midfield, particularly DM, which is where I think he should play. While he's great at CB, he is definitely more involved when he plays in the midfield and he brings everything to that position in every manner possible. Plus we're already loaded in the CB position both in terms of the present and the future so molding him into a DM makes sense. However, the versatility he'll provide is also a great plus.
This is why I feel we shouldn't worry about whether Romeu will leave or not because I'm 100% sure that this guy would do an excellent job at DM and dominate the position for years to come.

Re: Nathaniel Chalobah
He could always play both positions when needed.
Cannot wait until he joins the first team.

Can't be too far off the first team now I think. Especially with Alex frozen out of the team now.

Re: Nathaniel Chalobah
I think we should allow him to play at his best position and that is CB. His ball playing skill and his athleticism will be valuable in a highline defense.

Re: Nathaniel Chalobah
Heard a lot of good things about Chalobah on loan, he seems to have made a big impression in his first start.
He is playing in midfield, i think his future might be there instead of CB. He has a better chance of breaking through there since lets face it Mikel has not always look good, and i don't rate Romeu as highly as everyone here.
As for the cb position we will be fine since Kalas has looked impressive, and Bruma has not looked that bad at Hamburg. Luiz and Cahill are both relatively young also.

Yea, was just about to post about this on the Loan thread. Reading some comments on twitter during the match, people watching it said he was doing well. And I'm just going through some Watford forums now to see what they're saying and it seems to be very much the same.
Hopefully he can continue playing well (as I understand he did during his 20-or-so-minute cameo midweek as well) and lock a starting place there like Josh has done at Boro.

Re: Nathaniel Chalobah
Very bored here on a Sunday evening with really nothing to do, so I decided to go perusing through some Watford forums to see what they're saying about him. Here's a few of my findings...
So it seems they have nothing but good things to say about him. It looks as if he, like Josh, will be getting the consistent playing time this season they need and deserve.
Finally, a pair of decent, well-thought-out loan decisions from the board
I have yet to see such an influencial young player in a Watford shirt since John Barnes came on the scene. Totally different players, but he oozes quality - for someone so young to have the confidence he has, it is no wonder he makes a few mistakes - but he is one of those players who you feel would make the entrance money to any game worthwhile, just to see him play.
Chelsea've got a star in the making there, no mistake. I just hope they'll leave him with us for the season and then get him in their first team next term.

Has played brilliantly so far, you'd never know he was 17 and you'd never know the game vs Bristol City (I think it was, memory failing me) was his first ever senior game.
He's very assured on the ball, confident and strong, can really drive forward and pass too. Reminds me quite a bit of Yaya Toure more than a centre back.

Chalobah has been excellent for us in the short time he has been here, the first time I watched him play was against Bristol City where he got man of the match in that game, he has been very confident and composed and he always wants the ball I would say he has been one of our most important players in the last few games and has helped us turn results around. In my opinion he has definitely been more impressive in the midfield than defence which has surprised me as I was expecting him to be more of a centre back. Before seeing him play I was unsure about the signing mainly because of his age although admittedly I didn't know much about him, but he plays like a player who has been playing senior football for a while.

He'll be an England international sooner rather than later if he carries on his progression as I thought with Cleverley when he was here on loan.
His quality of play is no surprise to me. Very versatile indeed and he can operate as a defensive box to box midfielder and as he matures drop into the defence.

Moving on, I thought that Chalobah was outstanding. He's so calm on the ball, I can't believe he's only 17. This lad will definitely play for England one day.

We must try to keep Chalobah past Jan. What a talent in the making.

Chalobah looks so impressive and has beautifully quick feet and strength for any player, let alone a 17 year old.

Good to know he's doing well.
I like that Yaya Toure comparison. That would be massive for us.

Re: Nathaniel Chalobah
After seeing his two fantastic attempts at goal on the FL Show tonight, I decided to have another quick prowl around the Watford forum...
Would like to add that the composure of Chalobah was unbelievable!!
I am very impressed with Chalobah. He looks like a great player already, and will only get better. He forced a very good save from the keeper and his all round vision and passing was top drawer. Hit the bar and post as well.
Chalobah was impressive yet again and on any other day would have two league goals to his name apart from a great save and a lucky ricochet.
Chalobah just gets better and better.. the sky is the limit.
He is playing to a level of at least 7 years more experience than his age.
If he can maintain this, he will be part of the England Senior set up in his 20's.

He did. I read last night there were 2 Watford players sent off in their match but it wasn't until this morning I found out he was one of themBarrettinator wrote:Did he really get sent off? That looks photoshopped.
In fairness though, it was 2 yellows, not a straight red.

Nate scores his first ever professional club goal today as Watford beat Wolves 2-1
The Hornets now up to 9th in the table, 1 point off the play-off places. All down to the Chelsea effect of Zola and Chalobah, no doubt
