Conor's trying too hard and it looks dumb without fans cheering. Can't wait for the fight though.

Khabib ahs never been truly rocked lol saw him walk through a clean head kick from Barboza
Conor looks nervous, trying too hard from the start, although he def seems to have gotten to Khabib as it went on

Conor is just so extra, it's overwhelming at times.
By glass chin I guess he means Khabib is often dropped and wobbled by strikers that are way worse in comparison with Conor.

You mean like this infamous wobble where he was barely graced?

Please, Kebab does get hurt often and that's why he goes for the legs to bring guys down so he can protect himself. He's a half-fighter.
Now after the press conference Conor even won the mental war.... this is done imo

lol Khabib's never been rocked in his career
dude walked through a clean barboza head-kick, he has a great chin and Conor's only KTFO like one dude
he has a 10% chance at beating Khabib
I honestly see Khabib dragging it out like the Johnson fight, just pounding away at him

He goes for the legs because he’s a Sambo-fighter and wrestling is his force. Should he not go for the legs?
Also when has he been in serious trouble ever?

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Khabib had one of the all time great grappling games, lol. Heard it from numerous elite fighters how he rolls with LHW's and often beats them. Even if Conor had a serviceable ground game, it's nothing to Khabib who has been training since he was like 5 years old. Conor could train for years and Khabib will take him down like it's his first lesson.
Conor was literally begging the ref to stand it up in the Mendes fight.
Honestly you saying this is just plain ridiculous
and makes me think you don't watch MMA outside of Conor fights period, wtf? that or you're trolling
Conor can win this fight but it'll be catching Khabib when he's coming in and I'm skeptical he can put Khabib down like that, the guy is a terminator and Conor's power is really overblown, people don't die when he hits them, he has like 1 KO in the UFC, hard to see Khabib being dropped and then finished, we don't know what his recovery is like because we've never seen him really hurt. It could happen.
Conor has one way of winning the fight and Khabib knows it, I honestly think this will end up as one of Khabib's easiest fights tbh.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
The interesting thing about this fight is neither guy can particularly execute their strengths on each other.
Khabib can't take him down through traditional movement because that movement is too predictable and tbh he doesn't or hasn't shown so far the ability to show more advanced movement.
Conor can't really fight how how he usually does because it plays into Khabib's ground game, which leads to a fight where Conor has to fight from a distance and use his jab more which he won't want to do.
It's a very unpredictable fight for that reason, neither guy can use what they are good at and execute it to win. They'll both have to adapt and find other ways to win.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Khabib is 10-0 in the ufc and he’s only fought bums in his career, his abilities are overrated because he had comfortable matchups. Iaquinta gave him major problems and Al isn’t even half the fighter Conor is.
Maybe Khabib will know Conor has only one way of winning the fight but he can’t possibly be prepared for McGregors left hand same as Conor can’t be prepared for Khabibs dominance on the ground.
Khabibs unbeaten streak is so overblown. It’s not as great as people think looking at who he’s fought.
Just remember the fight and every round starts standing up where Conor is lightyears ahead. His takedown defense is also underrated, there’s no way he’s gonna be surprised by Kebab’s sloppy charges...

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
Conor won't be able to fight loose though like he normally would, you seem to underestimate that
see Darren Till who has good TDD and is a very good striker like Conor, but absolutely clueless when it comes to Wrestling was stiff and couldn't let loose against Woodley the other weekend because he had to make sure he was positioned to defend the takedowns.
you've seen it a lot in Khabib fights too, Khabib's striking i smeh but he still tees off on better striker because they can't leave themselves open for the takedown
Unless Conor catches Khabib in the first 90 seconds he's gonna get Michael Johnson'd. 100%
Al Iaquinta's a great fighter btw and would be a very tough fight for Conor.
I hear Conor signed an 8 fight contract, guess it was smart, he's in a position of power currently, won't be if Khabib smashes him. Don't see him fighting 8 more times in the UFC though.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
I’m not a fanboy, I just like Conor and appreciate what he’s done for the sport. How can you hate him? He single handedly made UFC much bigger and earned them so much money you can’t even imagine.
I think Khabib is overrated, I’ve seen him maul people but lots of his fights end in decisions. I’m not denying that he’s a great fighter.... I’m just saying his undefeated streak is deceiving.
To win the title he fought a fighter ranked 11 or 12 I believe. He hasn’t fought a versatile guy like Conor who can fight in many stances and end any fight with 1-2 punches.
If this was a 170 fight I’d be skeptical but at 155 I think Conor takes it. It’s a 50-50 though I admit it could go either way, obviously
Also, people don’t realize how fast Conor is until they get in the cage with him. The fight has a high chance of ending before it even goes to the ground.

Re: MMA/UFC Thread
UFC PPV's and ratings are at all time low levels lol, in the Conor era. His cards may break record, but he hasn't made the UFC bigger than ever before. The sport was arguably more popular overall before he even fought in the UFC than it is now.
The marketing has gotten better, though. No doubt.
Al Iaquinta is a far more versatile fighter than Conor lol. (Didn't say better) Definitely not a 50/50 fight. 80-20 for me.
