The heir to Pirlo Empty The heir to Pirlo

Any up and coming regista of extra class out there?
I hate headless chikenery. A proper regista is needed for high quality football.
The football world will become a sad place if master class midfielders die out.

There's quite a few midfielders like him coming out of the Barca academy, unsurprisingly.

Poli is dumped at Inter. Will he get enough playing time? I like him a lot. He needs to be a starter somewhere for two three years.

Verratti is THE gem! I hope he comes to Napoli one way or other. Absolute joy to watch. Still to me he is more like attacking midfielder than regista or am I wrong? Last time I saw him in action was one year ago.

Quite a few Alf?

The only one in the Barca system that has the Pirlo traits is Thiago......

Rafinha, Sergi Roberto, Riverola are all talented but they are not Regista's.

Don't you think thread should be titled: "the heir to Xabi Alonso"?

Xabi displaced Pirlo from the DLP throne a couple years back already bro.. Not because he is more talented per se but rather because Xabi is so much more consistent. 45 out of every 50 games flawless performance guaranteed

Any videos about him or other data? I feel bad for not knowing a youth golden ball winner.

Xabi is class but Pirlo is regista god. Don't derail the thread.

I'd say Sahin once he gets settled in, although the jury is still out on whether or not he'll reach Pirlo or Alonso levels of sexy.

Didn't he feature in 8-2 drubbing? He's quite young. How many senor appearances? Has he won anything at youth level yet?

Sahin looked like real deal in Dortmund. He is no bench or rotation material. What will Real do?

He's been injured for months so he was never going to just play awesome right away. The regista role is the hardest in football imo. Once he settles in he'll be a starter.

Alex is his own player I'm not sure if you can compare him to others. He plays in a 4-4-2 and he does very well in it. He can dictate play as well as defend.

He's also a ginger. Because of all these things he reminds me of Paul Scholes lol

When Xabi Alonso hits mid-30s, he'll go to Milan as a talented young wonderkid.

I was going to mention Samper but he's so young that like Deulefou and Grimaldo among others its really hard to determine how good they can be.

True I gave up being too critical on youngsters.

At first I used to think Messi would amount to nothing...
