Re: Game of Thrones
Shit is going to get real in the next episode. And the next season is going to be action packed.

My main problem with an episode like yesterdays is that they jumped around so much that they didn't really have the time to develop the story in any one place
Just when it was starting to get somewhere north of the wall....they have to switch the setting
Just when its getting interesting in winterfell....they have to switch the setting
etc etc etc
I suppose I can't get too mad about that, there's just so much going on in so many different locations its impossible to be everywhere at once...Its just much more noticeable when its on TV than when its in the books
For me, in the books the changing of scenery prompts anticipation...In the TV series sometimes it just leads to the story feeling slow or disjointed

Yea, there are too many parallel storylines, so the fact that they are still able to keep it moving at the same pace as the books is admirable.

Re: Game of Thrones
Could hardly expect more from a filler episode. It was still good though. Sets up some great dynamics to come.
- Spoiler:
Really beginning to dislike the Robb-Talisa plot, as hot as she is. I just don't think it gells well with what else going down around him, considering his mom's treachery, his brother's supposed deaths and the plight of his sisters and his armies. There was a feeling in his eyes as she told her story about her brother, but it wasn't compassion. That was pure lust and it cheapened the scene, I think.
Arya naming Jaqen as the last name to force him into helping her escape Harrenhal was as goat in the show as it was in the book. I'm starting to think this kid is more Lannister than Stark lol.
Disappointed with the lack of Dany and Jon Snow in this episode, but Dany's scene was pretty good. She's clearly playing with Jorah's feelings for her. That's as plain as day. She'll do whatever she wants to get those dragons back and her ruthlessness is very refreshing considering how naive she's been made to look while in Qarth by Zaro.
Theon is looking like a creature backed into a corner. He knows his reputation is finished after what he did to those 2 boys. It was foolish to take such a large castle with so few men and his sister was right to throw that in his face with her tongue-in-cheek quips. However, I did not like her compassion that she showed towards him in this episode. She was colder in the book towards him and essentially left him to his fate when Roose Bolton's men sacked Winterfell. I thought that was far more natural.
Probably the best scene once again belongs to Tyrion and Cersei though. The look on his face when she told him she'd found about his whore only for it to be the wrong one, was absolutely awesome. It was the look of simultaneous triumph, relief, and genuine remorse. Triumph over Cersei in this little battle of theirs, relief that his woman was safe and remorse of what the whore in her place had and still will endure. Fantastically played out in the show and I just can't help, but miss reading Tyrion's thoughts from the book as it played out there too. It was money, simply put.
Of course then there's Brienne and Jaime. Easily the oddest of the odd couples in this show here. Mightiest man and mightiest woman. Outgoing, pithy, arrogant Kingslayer matched with the chaste, stone cold, sharp-eyed protector of Catelyn. I just love how this is going to play out. Tons of material here to make fun with. If ever there was one who could resist the wiles and the charms of a man like Jaime. It's big blonde from Tarth. Good stuff a'coming here.

Re: Game of Thrones
Spoiler - An episode (maybe two) ahead of where the series is so far
- Spoiler:
- I was very disappointed in Qhorin Halfhand as a whole...We haven't seen him a lot so far, but what we have seen has really just made him look like a bitch....A guy who should be a boss among bosses, really just comes off as a sneaky, rat-ish like character - I think this is one of the first places in the TV Series where the casting got it badly, badly wrong...Qhorin Halfhand should've been someone like Bronn but on steroids and with a purpose - instead he comes off as an old man who is in over his head

Re: Game of Thrones
I was very disappointed we didn't get to see Dani recovering her dragons this episode. Felt it could have given it some much needed momentum. Also, it means that next episode will be a true clusterf*ck of things happening at the same time.

Re: Game of Thrones
Who the hell is Oberyn?
TV Series needs more boss characters....Drogo's death left a gaping hole
Jamie while looking frighteningly soulless
Bronn hasn't had to actually do much in ages it feels like
Jhogo and all the bloodriders have been on the short leash
Jorah is pussywhipped by a pussy he'll never get (I'm assuming)
Jon Snow has looked soft as hell
Brienne is sort of just awkward
Qhorin Halfhand looks like an old man over his head
Only person living up to standards is the Hound atm
Although a Game of Thrones tournament to the death would be interesting

Umm, Bronn never left Jon Snow on the wall. He is the guy who goes around with Tyrion. You're maybe thinking of Benjen Stark?

Should add Jaqen H'ghar to the list, he's the one helping Arya and referring to himself in third person. He's been BAWS so far. Also Robb Stark, I think he's tougher and probably better warrior than Jon Snow. And who are Jhogo and Oberyn?

He mistake Bronn with Yoren, lots of viewers made that mistake since they look alike.

1.Barristan( He is the best fighter in the words of Ned's dad and he must be one of Jamie's idols)Abramovich wrote:Can anyone tell me who those 3 people Jaime thinks can rival him in a fight are??
2.The hound(because he has destroyed everything in his path till now and is an absolute beast)
3.The mountain(same reason as above)
And i think Bronn can also have a chance against Jamie. And Khal Drogo can destroy him in seconds, but he is deaf and not a citizen of SK.

Jhogo is Daenarys' bodyguards to to speak...the one that leashed Viserys around the neck when he threatened her
I meant to include Jaqen H'ghar, although tbh his killings are more by deception than by 1on1 fighting

Jaqen's kills may be by deception, but he can kill anyone that Arya cares to name, which makes him pretty badass.

Yeah I hear ya, BC....I miss me some Ghost. That wolf is awesome in the book and is badass in his own right, as is Robb's wolf Grey Wind.
Disappointing to see the wolves get marginalized in the show because they play a good part in the books.
