Re: Game of Thrones
Totally agree with the introduction of Mance being underwhelming. Also not one HAR out of Giantsbane.
Tywin Tyrion scene was the best in the episode.
Bronn mocking with the kingsguard was great too.
When they first saw Danny on the ship I was like when is Artisan Whitebeard but I see they decided to move his re appearace to Asaphor instead of Qarth. But WHERE is Strong Belwas?? He's funny.
edit: just remembered the Davos Stannis scene.
Stannis should not have ordered him to the cells. Where is Alex Florent etc.
That pissed me of a bit too.

Re: Game of Thrones
Yeah the Mance and Jon dialogue is quite different from the books version. I don't expect it to be close to what the book is like though, and I have already accepted that a lot from the book will be cut due to the time constraints and the like.

Re: Game of Thrones
Just watched it
Great start to the season. Missed this show so much
It was a good decision to show half the characters now and the other half in the next episode. Would have been too rushed otherwise.
Felt sorry for Tyrion. The other lannisters don't realise that he is their strongest weapon.
Dragons look beautiful btw

Looking forward to Oberyn scenes so much.
See that on Westeros.org people are happy about season 4 getting renewed means that these scenes will be made.
i.e. I must wait another year for these GOAT scenes.

Yeah, I liked Strong Belwas and there's a future scene in book 5 that will have to be very changed without him.
Stannis and Davos it's also a change because Stannis never treated Davos like this in the books... I suppose they'll be friends again later.

Obviously you should avoid spoilers but I think it would be great for you to get some back story on House Bolton. I think it adds to the experience
Or you could not just in case

I see what Goonbrain was saying about the Jon Snow-Mance Rayder scene. Was far better in the books. Ciarian Hinds doesn't look to be the best choice honestly.
As far as season openers go, this one was good, but season 2's was better imo.
It was definitely better in the book. Was kind of bummed when Jon went in the tent and there was no singing

Think they made a mess of the first Jon Snow/Mance Rayder meeting
That was a great scene and they really took the sting out of it

Re: Game of Thrones
Anybody else thought Mance Rayder would be much better looking than this I'm pretty sure Mance was a lover and a womanizer from the way Martins described him in the books, although it's been a long time, I can't remember thoroughly.

Re: Game of Thrones
They didn't show Rayder's extremely hot wife and her sister (according to the books). Yeah, that scene was a little meh.
I'm up to book 4 now and feel enlightened. Frack it was a pain living in the shadows, not knowing what's going to happen next.
Obviously the Tyrion scene was top.
BTW, Sansa is making my play bits quiver, now that she's older... I like how they eliminated Ser Dontos because he highly annoyed me and got Littlefinger telling everything as it is.

Re: Game of Thrones
Stannis sending his most trusted servant to the dungeons i wonder if the screenwriters actually read the series
They better not f**k up arya, tyrion and jamie story lines, because they are the best.
As someone said, cant wait for the viper

- Spoiler:
- Dany kick some serious ass in the books, but it will be expensive to show all her battles. So is the Jon storyline, which i think will be tweaked so that they will remove most of the battlrs with the wildlings(which are amazing too btw)
But jamie, arya and tyrion's are mostly going here and there with some epic dialogues.
