Re: Most Improved player of 2010-11 Season
IMO he improved, but not by much. He has been a class player for a while, He just went unnoticed because of Adler and Enke holding down the german GK spot.

you can't say him. this was his first season playing in the international spotlight and in a top league. how do you know if he has improved or if he has always been this good.

he went from being the boy who was booed by his own fans at Anfield a few season ago, to be named LFC player of the season this year...
but ive remarked that many non-liverpool fans never really take a close look at him to be able to jugde him fairly

before man utd bought him he was struggling to play for his team in mexico, making him ponder if to quit football or not. and then he comes to one of the biggest football team in the world and benches berbatov and owen, becoming a starter and playing the UCL final. i say that's a huge improvement.

Gattuso, had a terrible season in 2009-2010 thanks to the injuries and Leonardo's horrible coaching. After this year though no one can doubt his return to playing some pretty good football. Scored a few goals and got a few assists also, great Co-Captain.
Abate, of course
although we should have known he would shine after Leonardo left
Robinho
Abate, of course

Robinho

I might also suggest that Busquets improved once more this year, though again I think the change wasn't as drastic as with the names I previously mentioned.
Also I forgot Maicon. *evil grin*

Excuse my ignorance, but who is Porridge?
I'm trying to think of who it can be and apart from Sturridge thanks to the same suffix, or perhaps extending the food theme to "Biscuits." Is it their actual nickname?
Or am I just making a fool of myself.

Re: Most Improved player of 2010-11 Season
Quite a few good names mentioned already.
But I do have a gripping point about Chicharito: how many of you actually watched him with Guadalajara? Regularly?
Saying that he's the most improved player sounds quite bizarre if people haven't actually watched him before.
He did the exact same things with Mexico in the WC that he now does for United. I don't know about his performances for Guadalajara but I think that quite a few people here do, no disrespect.
If you've watched him regularly before his switch to Utd then feel free to add your thoughts, but for the average fans I'd say that mentioning him is quite bizarre.

i'm sorry but i disagree...
if you look in the past, very few young players that were bought by big clubs made an impression in the first season. from cr ronaldo to tevez, higuain. and for him to do it in his first season, benching berbatov who scored 22 goals this season i think is more than impressive. but fine...i'll nominated another.
and weirdly enough is also from man utd. i'll say fabio. he's been at manchester foorm 2007-2008 season and only played 5 games last season. and this season he managed to fill g.neville shoes and he did surprisingly good.

Lucas under Dalglish has also improved a lot. He used to be terrible but has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season.

He's been solid for the last couple of seasons now.

LFC fans were booing him off the park last season.

I'd say Marcelo and Benzema for Real Madrid and Lucas for Liverpool.

Sure, it's a very impressive feat and he was extremely good for Utd. But that's not the point, do you know whether he was much poorer in Mexico?
He performed very well for Utd, better than people expected, but that doesn't mean that he'd improved that much. If people didn't watch him with Guadalajara they can't convincigly say he's improved. How would they if they haven't watched him?
Being good and improving are different things.
