Hulk - Most improved player

Aguero - He was already godly way before last season and I'm aware of that. But last season, his teamwork and confidence leveled up tremendously IMO.

It has to be silva. He has grown from being nesta-dependent to being one of the best defenders in the world.

The likes of ozil, boateng, abate, gotze, nuri sahin and wilshere also showed great improvements

if you look in the past, very few young players that were bought by big clubs made an impression in the first season. from cr ronaldo to tevez, higuain. and for him to do it in his first season, benching berbatov who scored 22 goals this season i think is more than impressive. but fine...i'll nominated another.
and weirdly enough is also from man utd. i'll say fabio. he's been at manchester foorm 2007-2008 season and only played 5 games last season. and this season he managed to fill g.neville shoes and he did surprisingly good.

Sure, it's a very impressive feat and he was extremely good for Utd. But that's not the point, do you know whether he was much poorer in Mexico?

He performed very well for Utd, better than people expected, but that doesn't mean that he'd improved that much. If people didn't watch him with Guadalajara they can't convincigly say he's improved. How would they if they haven't watched him?

Being good and improving are different things.

okay, when you put it like this, you are indeed right. i don't know how he was while in mexico and so i have no idea how much he improved compared to last year.

Podolski and Gomez just found their form this season so I wouldnt call that improving. Krasic we all knew was talented so I dont think he improved. Quagliarella on the other hand was never a consistent goalscorer, so I think he definitely improved. Mario Goetze and Juan Agudelo also both bursted onto the scene for their respective teams and quickly earned starting spots for their teams, as well as callups for their national teams. The same thing goes for cavani, though to a lesser extent since we all knew he was good, just not this good. So I think first place is a tossup between agudelo and goetze, with quags taking 3rd, cavani taking fourth, and, I dont know, probably hummels taking 5th.

In my opinion in the second half of the 2009-2010 season Lucas was performing at a high level. He has continued this great form into last season. I don't think he has improved that much in the last year.(although he has improved certain aspects in his game). In my opinion it's his consistency all season and especially his performances in the big games that have got him all the recognition he deserves.

For this reason, I have to pick someone else. I think Spearing deserves a shout. He's no world beater but he has transformed from someone that in my eyes was only a reserve player to one who can do a job consistently for the senior squad. He in my eyes probably made the biggest improvement.

Neuer was already God, but people only noticed this season due to CL.

Khedira went from "who's this guy?" to being loved by all Madrid fans.

To be honest, I want to distinguish those who are youngsters who've had their "breakthrough season" like so many- Hernandez, Sanchez, Bale..... to those experienced pros who really have improved after one season- because I think they should be in two different categories. So I'd be more inclined to pick a 27 year old Felipe Melo who had a diabolical season last season, and now he's recouped his hefty transfer fee to an extent.
