The best RB for season 2010/2011 in Serie A
My vote for Maggio coz he reminds me of Zambrotta

Re: The best RB for season 2010/2011 in Serie A
This is RB of the season right? So why is Maggio there? He played as a winger all season for Napoli...
Re: The best RB for season 2010/2011 in Serie A
my vote goes to maggio. the way napoli played meant maggio covered all the right side with very little help and he did it magically(as his name).
according to transfermarkt.de: 44 games (41 as starter) - 4 goals - 4 assists
(that's better than abate....i checked)

A winger has better attacking stats than a right back?

actually abate is a winger...just allegri played him as RB. and you 4-3-3 tactic gave him enough space to attack as maggio had

No, Abate used to be a winger. Now he is anything but. Allegri didn't have an option other than to play him as a RB after Tassoti was done with him
Yeah a 4-3-3 is good for an attacking full back, but still no where near as attacking as a winger in a 3-4-3... Definitely not 'as much' space as Maggio. Not even close...
Re: The best RB for season 2010/2011 in Serie A
Abate for obvious reasons. Maggio did in fact play as a winger most of the season in an advanced role. Abate stayed back and did a lot more defensive work. Hence why Milan have by far the best defensive record in the league. It was mainly our RB, and our two CBs... our LB was a bit iffy at times. Zambrotta was good, but out for a long time with an injury.

Ah no surprise on the Abate opinion, yet the best RB can't manage a spot on the national team?

Oh here we go again *rolleyes*
Who said the best players get called up to the national team? If that was the case Aquilani and Cassani would have been dropped ages ago. It seems like you simply can't respect my opinion. The Italian National team is far from great, and Prandelli lost his mind here not giving Abate a call-up.

Yes he did lose his mind I guess according to some of you, and yet the media has little to concern about Abate's absence, and yet made a big deal over Cassano and Balotelli? Why on them and not Abate?

Well considering Cassani is in terrible form right now... and Maggio is 28 years old... who does Italia have in the long term? Abate should be called up, but that doesn't take away from his qualities as a player. You just think it does. In that logic, is Simone Pepe a world class player? He got called up plenty of times.
And the media is just so trustworthy aren't they?

They have either Santon or Abate.

Santon? What has he done? He had one great half season with Jose... he's now not even a starter with CESENA. The problem with Maggio is his age... he's a good player don't get me wrong... and the problem with Cassani is he is just downright mediocre. What was Palermo's defense record in the league again? The second worst. Only Lecce was worse.
The only RB worthy out there is Abate. And maybe Maggio if he is still good at 31 or 32... I think Maggio will still be around for the 2014 World cup... but, Abate may take over.

Santon has lots of potential, skill, talent, and experience. He will grow soon, mark my words. His call ups to the national team here and there speak for themselves.

Sure he's talented, but he's completely overrated. Totally utterly overrated. He has potential, but I've heard that a thousand times over. I don't care for his call ups. He can't even break into the starting 11 at Cesena. But then again, I don't expect you to take into consideration the facts. You just look at the half good season he had with Jose...
You're overrating him big time.
Abate > Santon. One is a starter at the biggest team in Italy. The other... can't even break into a relegation battler.

Abate has an Italy callup.
The olympics team counts, right?

And Abate isn't? How is Santon overrated when he has many haters here? And Abate for some odd reason seems to be one of the best RB's in the world?
