Santos will get slaughtered today on match of the day....to be fair to him Gervinho is offering zero protection in front of him.

Imagine the horror if Arshavin was there instead of Gervinho.

This guy gotta improve. His passing is bad, and he gets stuck into every tackle and for a LB that is very dangerous, even if it did win us the ball quite a few times.

Yeah that's a great quality in him. He was invaluable in winning the ball back and that goal was class. at least a 7.0 today

Koscielny needs to have some of that....if the guy has a shit game, he just gives up and doesn't fancy it anymore but he was class today. Best defender on the pitch Afro

He is good one on one... Wins tackles.. But his concentration is poor at times.. Good pace although not fast as Clichy.. He is better upfront in attack than Clichy.. And i am seeing Arsenal FB scoring goals..!

And overall.. i think he is equally good as Clichy...
A good buy that too from Turkish league.. And a good replacement in par with Gibbs...

I love him!

Excellent buy imo. Was meh in the 1st half but showed in the 2nd what he is about.

Gibbs is still the 1st choice but Santos can bench him easily

He just needs to improve his tackling. It's either "holy shit, what a tackle" or a huge ass blunder.

Going forwards he's totally a beast, though. Way better than Clichy. And yeah, he needs to lose some weight.

I do not care what you say, but i love this guy (no homo). plus, i am pretty sure he won every tackle in the second half. Sturridge was garbage there, Mata was not that effective (his goal was supposed to be a foul). plus i love his swagged attitude. guy is classs. plus, finally, we have our own Brazilian fullback Very Happy

There's no such a thing like fullback in Brazil. They produce wingbacks only Very Happy We had to school Marcelo into defending, still a work in progress Very Happy

I prefer Gibbs at left back myself, but Santos did do very well to recover from a poor first half.

We knew when we signed him that his defensive qualities were always going to be in doubt, while his attacking qualities are his strengths. I do feel he'll struggle up against pace, as he seems to lack it - did anyone see Sturridge just outrun him with the ball? That's worrying.

Gibbs was playing well before he got injured again. Santos has qualities but isn't quick and seems to be short of fitness still (judging by his heavy breathing lol)

Gibbs is too injury prone.. That is worrysome.. It'd be interesting to see who among the two of them ends the season with more appearances..
