Re: Dark Souls

that was clearly a very unfinished area, much like some you'll see later
still, I'm surprised you found that unless you're using a guide

I mean maybe not since by now you know about illusionary walls
still, how was the journey to the bottom? I remember hating that so much with those basilisks that turn you to stone and the drops to your death ffs

Re: Dark Souls
Nah not using a guide. Just saw a sign saying secret ahead and then secret ahead again. So managed to get to the great hollow (got cursed) and then ash lake. So was fighting that abomination of a creature with half the health and getting one shot. Also those OP clams around the beach
Those basilisks
One of the worst experience going to the bottom. Those mushrooms can one shot you lmao. Straight coppied from the Cactuar in final fantasy ffs
Going back to blighttown ffs. Life was better there. Also need a purging stone.

Re: Dark Souls
forgot about that disgusting slashed health with the curses, saw that cause people to quit
yeah, I always just try to run past everything in the great hollow ffs
that whole area is the second worst in the game IMO, but I admit it was cool as hell to find the great hollow/ash lake

How do you guys rank the souls games?
I might get around to playing 3 if I can manage the emotional comittment of playing through something like that
Reading these comments from RG makes me wanna play DS

Re: Dark Souls
Bloodborne > Dark Souls > Dark Souls 3 > Dark Souls 2 > Demons Souls
for me
order I played was Dark Souls > Demons > DS2 > BB > DS3
I haven't played Dark Souls since before DS2 was released, IDK how it would feel going back to it after all the small quality of life changes over the years

Re: Dark Souls
Sen's fortress is one of the most disgusting places of all time for me..
you know those scythe traps? well there are some later on towards the end that are annoying
I had a controller at the time that had issues with the button I used to sprint, I legitimately died 10+ times at the top of the fortress because I couldn't time sprinting through the scythes. Almost snapped the disc and quit.
the feeling of relief when I cleared it ffs
it's good to see you struggling a little though considering you're a veteran of Souls at this point, would be boring if it werent a little challenging

Re: Dark Souls
Those scythes aren't an issue. I think it's because of 60fps and you can clearly measure the distance.
But those balls.. Them rolling balls. Wtf is this shit? Also being ganked by those lizard enemies. Disgusting place.
Apparently i am too underlevelled according to other friend.
Also can you reach senn from darkroot basin?

Re: Dark Souls
I mean Senn's entrance and Darkroot are right by each other with the Blacksmith, that's it
there are some secrets in Senn's if you follow some of the balls around btw, some good items and stuff IIRC
I think you should probably be doing Quelaag before Senn's, but that's the order I usually do it anyway
Darkroot later

Re: Dark Souls
Do you remember how you move the direction of that ball in Senn fortress?
Right
So i moved it.
And then i thought you know what? let's see what's over that window. And i went towards it looking out.
And yes.
I moved the direction of that ball to that exact route where I was standing.
might retire

I'm surprised DS 1 is giving you so much grief considering you mastered 2, 3, BB and Nioh

Re: Dark Souls
It's the mechanics. It's still a game from 2011 so it's hard to adapt because hitbox, physics etc are all over the place.
Also the game is surprisingly in depth. I am not sure I have discovered half the NPCs and materials that would upgrade my current gear. Still using base weapon, armour and flasks with no upgrade because the firelink keeper is dead lol.

Re: Dark Souls
it had the best NPC's and stories of any of the other Dark Souls games. All super easy to fail to progress, entirely possible you may never even meet half of them again. Was disappointed about all of the NPC's in the other games, in fact the only one I remember is Lucatiel from Dark Souls 2, who was admittedly really one of the best IMO

Re: Dark Souls
I am not sure if this is a bug but I hit Iron golem few times and he just fell off the bridge lol? Fight lasted like 20 seconds.

Re: Dark Souls
It's not a bug, well known to have happened back in the day IIRC, think it's intentionally possible.
yeah when you first see Anor Londo
it's like nothing else in the dark and dreary world. Wonder if you will have trouble with the notorious archers. Probably not since they brought them back in DS3.

seen it take people 20+ attempts to get past them ffs

Re: Dark Souls

*bleep* them
So my mate is insisting on me to go back to darkroot basin to explore it all. Gonna head back. Also need to get this ring from undead asylum that makes to faster on water.
Will explore anor londo after that.

Re: Dark Souls
hmm, I think it takes multiple playthroughs too. It was a bit tedious IIRC, did it on PS3. But you can blitz the game in like 5 hours.
