I am not sure if i am missing out on hidden areas but i am barely getting any gear. Still using shit armour and weapons aren't that great. Also only have like one ring so far which is shit.

oh i beat him yesterday. Just had to trick him into plunging attack. Wasn't hard after that. Took 5 tries though overall lol
I agree with you that it is a pleb tier boss. It's just that area is terrible.

Re: Dark Souls
yup, first time I played I took the usual route to Blighttown..nearly scarred me for life. Every other time I played I took that shortcut. Bypasses The Depths too.

Re: Dark Souls
Gaping Dragon is the pin-cushion boss of Dark Souls.
You can help others beat him to get all the souls you want, all while farming humanity from the sewer rats. I probably spent a quarter of my time in Dark Souls in that area farmings humanity and killing the Gaping Dragon.
Only boss I could kill without getting hit once.

Re: Dark Souls
It is a weird boss design. I walked around casually and hit him and then walked away. Rinsed and repeat. Actually no idea what they intended with it.
Optional bosses are supposed to be hard
