Re: The Coentrao experiment
I like this "better defender" myth. Coentrao was destroyed in the Camp Nou in the super cup second leg.
Great Defender my rich, handsome and talented arse.

Re: The Coentrao experiment
I actually thought we would have waited till the end of the season to damn poor Blondie into oblivion but I see we're taking an early start. I too would really love to know why Mourinho bought him (to which I doubt it's because he's Portuguese) but I really think he's being branded unfairly particularly by rich and handsome poster(s).

I dont like the coentrao signing apart for as a LB cover but saying he was brought because of portugese bias is
Re: The Coentrao experiment
Still a good player imo just cost a too much considering we have Marcelo and he hasn't been worse than Lass in midfield.

Re: The Coentrao experiment
I actually think Coentrao is a great player... Marcelo is better because of his offense. But Coentrao is clearly the better defensive LB. He may get beaten as everyone does. But at least he's usually in position to recover. Marcelo, on the other hand, whiffs completely when he gets toasted and is pretty much left for dead.

let's wait a couple of months. Wait till he's fully fit and has some match practise...
I think we might be in for a surprise. A good surprise.

Coentrao is the new Benzema. I hate these types of over rated mercenaries who come to replace real Madridistas

plus the 30m isnt that big of a deal to you guys at madrid. you had/have the money for him, and he IS good.

Re: The Coentrao experiment
How are guys that Madrid wants and buys considered mercenaries. It's not like they demand to be sold for a high bidder, which is what i consider as mercenary attitude. And what the heck is a "real madridista". Other than Casillas, Higuain and Marcelo, who came in when they were young, the entire core of the club are non-madrid developed.
We don't have mercenary players. We have a lot players that were developed by other clubs.

If 30 million is what it takes to prove Marcelo is the real deal then I'm all for it.
Higuain out scoring Benzema will be another plus for this season that I will savour

I was only semi-serious with that comment but for some of our players their commitment is more clear than others.
Ramos, Pepe, Granero, Callejon, Ronaldo plus the guys you mentioned are clearly committed to the club. It's just clear in their actions and demeanour.
It's less clear for some of the others but there is never a really good reason to play favourites anyway
In the end all I ask for is hard work which to Blondie's credit he is doing. My only quip is that he was and is not needed here.

Re: The Coentrao experiment
We have no real Madridistas? I beg to differ. Casillas, Ramos, Arbeloa, Pepe, Marcelo, Callejon, Higuain, Granero... all developed by us from a young age except Pepe, but hes a proper Madridista by now.
Yeah, I hate 10pm games too. Good thing there arent so many this year thanks to Uncle Flo.
