Round 9 Talking Points
Thought to try this.
Bring up some talking points about the round's fixtures and the current standings.
I'll throw a few in here, come up with some of your own if you get any.
1) If City win the Manchester derby, on a scale 1-10 how significantly will it improve their title chances? They're 2 points ahead of United now, so would be 5 if they win on Sunday.
2) Wolves v Swansea. After their brilliant start, Wolves have lost five straight. Is this where they'll lose their relegation-form?
3) What will be the biggest surprise of the round?

Re: Round 9 Talking Points
And here's what I reckon myself:
1) 9. It would be massive if they could actually take three points from Old Trafford. Could very well look at that game at the end of the season and say "that's where their winning campaign properly started".
2) Wolves really need to win this one. It's still pretty early days, but their morale will hit a real low if they don't win this game after their losing run.
3) Biggest surprise will be Chelsea dropping points when they visit QPR.

...but if they don't and lose to Wigan at home, that'll mean their whole brilliant start to the season has been a fluke and they'll be relegation candidates by February...

In your dream's Art, if that were to happen it will just be the catalyst to get the team focused again and go on a 30 game unbeaten run

I think the the scale of 6 would be suitable here. Last season Man city lost most of their matches agaisnt the big boys. That was one of the concern for them, Especially Mancini going all defensive and hoping for a point. IF City wins tomorrow, that shows that they can beat the best. It is united at home as well, cant remember the last time they lost there in the PL.
2) Wolves v Swansea. After their brilliant start, Wolves have lost five straight. Is this where they'll lose their relegation-form?
Swanea can't play good away from home. Wolves are just crap these days. It is interesting to see what happens and i wont be surprised if this ends in a draw
3) What will be the biggest surprise of the round?
Norwich were kinda good against united. The better team i would argue. They potentially could cause liverpool problems as lucas who i think is one of liverpool's most important player will be missing. Spearing and Adam can both do fine without lucas as a patnership but maybe Norwich could get a point if they defend as good as they did against united.
Other wise, Blackburning beating tottenham at home to get out of thier misery period would be a surprise

Re: Round 9 Talking Points
7 for the Manchester derby as they would go 5 points clear of United but United could win at the Etihad later this season
Wolves-Swansea i can see a close 1-0 win for Wolves
Blackburn to beat Spuds and probably seeing if Newcastle win again (any chance of a manager swap. Pardew for Bruce?)

The result was nicely predicted
but Swansea actually played well here. I watched only the first half, but it seems to me Wolves weren't threatening too much in the 2nd half either, but as this is football we're talking about, they did manage to come back with two quick goals.
Wolverhampton should be worried, though. If Swansea can be the better team at Molineux, that pretty much spells doom for Wolves...
In other news, Sunderland going to Bolton with a fairly attacking line-up (Sessegnon, Bendtner and Wickham starting), I reckon they will either score 3 and win or concede 3+ and lose

Re: Round 9 Talking Points
Bolton are out of sorts, luckily for them there are other teams ( Wolves, Blackburn, Wigan) struggling, too.
If Bendtner and Sessegnon manage to click, Sunderland offensive woes should ease up quite a bit. A good win today.
Liverpool 1 - 1 Norwich

I know, man
But this game shouldn't even have been close, we hit the woodwork three times and had a handful of brilliant chances on top of those, too. But this is football and often you'll be made to pay a price for poor finishing, we're really learning it the hard way this season.
Anyway, some good games today.
Arsenal v Stoke, the visitors have lost their last two BPL away games with agg. score 6 - 0. But they've got the ability to make life difficult for their opponents, remains to be seen if today is one of their better days.
The Manchester Derby.
Hopefully Blackburn are able to take points from Tottenham.
16th and 17th face in the Fulham v Everton game, their positions are perhaps a little surprising.
And I still believe QPR are able to grab at least a point from Chelsea :king:

Re: Round 9 Talking Points
Well, City did win the derby, and in some style.
5 points clear now. United haven't been great in their last few games. If you ask me, there's one title contender emerging brighter than the rest.

Okay, I dunno which was more surprising, 1 - 6 or Chelsea losing, but still
